Man found clinging to tree in severe flooding in eastern India

An Indian villager was rescued from severe flooding in eastern India after clinging to a tree to avoid being washed away.

Footage filmed in Bhawanipur village in Motihari district in eastern India on July 24th showed the man hugging the tree with all his strength as the torrents of water flowed all around him.

The man, who was dragged away by the strong currents, hit the tree and clung to it for almost two hours, according to reports.

Fortunately for him, a team of police officers spotted him and managed to haul him to the safety of their boat.
