The South Korean government will start distributing disaster relief payments on Monday.
The first recipients will be the 2-point-8 million households living off basic pensions or disability payments.
They'll be getting cash deposits into the bank account they're already using to receive government assistance.
The households eligible for these first payments account for around 13 percent of all households in the country.
Payments to everyone else will be made in the weeks to come through other methods.
