Mobile payments in Korea surpassed US$ 70 billion in 2018

Last year Koreans used mobile devices to make payments worth more than 80 trillion won, or roughly 70 billion U.S. dollars.
Data from the Financial Supervisory Service shows that's a whopping 60 percent hike from the year before.
The latest amount includes all transactions made with electronic credit and debit cards, as well as mobile payment platforms like Samsung Pay.
