National news agency Bernama and state-owned broadcast RTM are both undergoing reforms in the face of the changing media landscape, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

However, as of now, these reforms do not appear to involve job cuts, he added.

"I would like to emphasise we are focused on developing staff, jobs are very important and if possible, we should try to retain as much as possible," Gobind added.

This comes after the recent incidents of news organisations like Utusan Malaysia and Kosmo shutting down as well as job cuts within Media Prima Bhd.
