'Sandra' headed to U.S. great ape sanctuary

Sandra, a 33-year-old orangutan that was legally ruled to not be an animal,... but a non-human person with rights,... will leave Buenos Aires and head to a sanctuary in Florida that is much better suited to her needs.
She was born in a zoo in Germany,... was moved to Argentina 25 years ago,... and has lived most of her life in a basketball court-sized cell in Buenos Aires.
The conditions she'd been kept in sparked protests from animal rights groups,... and led to a landmark court ruling in 2014 that she was entitled to some of the legal rights enjoyed by humans.
