Air pollution driven by climate change expected to cause even more deaths in China: Report
  • 5 years ago
Air pollution driven by climate change in China will only get worse, leading to even more deaths...on top of the current one million air pollution-related deaths every year.
This is according to a research by Chinese professor Qiang Zhang and German Dr. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber
They compared temperatures and air quality between 2006 and 2010 with projections for 40 years later...2046 to 2050 and estimated that air quality in China will worsen in over 55 percent of China.
And that's the area where over 85 percent of China's population is located.
The researchers also concluded that 40 percent of air pollution related deaths will be due to atmospheric stagnation and six percent because of heatwaves.
