Eazy-E's tragic real-life story
Eazy-E's life was brief and eventful, he was one of the most controversial figures in the rap world and is dubbed as "Godfather of Gangsta Rap". Eric Lynn Wright, known professionally as Eazy-E, was born and raised in the suburbs of Compton, California. Born in a district where drugs, gangs and violence were omnipresent, he dropped out of high-school and turned to drug-dealing to support himself and finally earn profits. With the money earned, he made his musical debut at the age of 23 with 'Boy’N The Hood', and during the same time he created his own record label 'Ruthless Records'. Later on, he would work with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube by forming the group Niggaz With Attitude. Eazy-E's debut album 'Eazy-Duz-It' sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States. However, tension started to build up after his debut album and N.W.A split up after Jerry Heller became the band's manager. 4 years later in 1995, Ice Cube and the band members wanted to reform N.W.A, unfortunately, Eazy-E suffered from a grave disease at that time. He entered the hospital with respiratory problems, believing he had Asthma but was diagnosed with AIDS. Sadly, just a few weeks later he would die at the young age of 31, leaving his fans and 9 children behind. Easy-E, with a provocative yet caring style, has entered a new musical era and remains, still today an icon!
