'TMZ' reports that Coolio died on Sept. 28, 2022 in Los Angeles.
His talent manager, Sheila Finegan, issued a statement.
"We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away Wednesday afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly. Please have Coolio's loved ones in your thoughts and prayers." Sheila Finegan, Coolio's talent manager, via statement.
His longtime manager, Jarez, says that the rapper was at a friend's house when he went to use the bathroom.
After he didn't come out for quite some time, the friend went to check on him and found him on the floor.
Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced Coolio dead.
While no drugs or paraphernalia were found, police have opened a death investigation.
An autopsy and toxicology test will be performed, but it is suspected that Coolio suffered cardiac arrest.
Coolio became known nationally in 1995 when his song, "Gangsta's Paradise," appeared on the soundtrack of Michelle Pfeiffer's film, 'Dangerous Minds.'
His other hits include "Fantastic Voyage," "1,2,3,4 (Sumpin' New)" and "It's All the Way Live (Now)."
