S. Korean President Moon Jae-in delivered public speech in front of some 150,000 Pyeongyang citizens, highlighting the peace of the Korean Peninsula

Now,... the highlight of Moon's address that we just listend to... was his vow to bring an end... to the 70-year-long history of hostile relations between the two Koreas... and take a step forward to achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.

While attending North Korea's mass games at Pyeongyang's Rungrado May Day Stadium,… President Moon Jae-in delivered a public speech in front of some 150-thousand citizens of the North Korean capital.
He became... not only the first South Korean leader to attend the event, but also the first to deliver a speech to a mass North Korean audience.

President Moon started off by first thanking his counterpart Kim Jong-un and announced that a new era of peace on the Korean Peninsula has arrived.
While explaining some of the key points of the Pyeongyang Summit Agreement that was reached by the two leaders,… President Moon declared to the 80 million Koreans and to the world that there will be no more war on the Korean Peninsula.
He added... that the leaders of the Korean Peninsula have come up with specific measures to completely eliminate the fear of war and the danger of armed conflict between the two Koreas.
President Moon also emphasized the achievements of the Inter-Korean summits and said together... they would build a new future.

"We lived together for over 5,000 years and have been separated for 70 years. I propose today to completely end this 70-year separation and take a big step towards peace."

He then concluded his speech with a proposal... outlining the new future of the Korean Peninsula.

"Chairman Kim Jong-un and I will hold hands together along with 80 million people on the Korean Peninsula and build a new country. Let's move on to a new future together."
