The governor of Maryland declared a state of emergency in preparation for significant flooding from Hurricane Florence on Monday, September 10.

This video, filmed by Edward Emerling, shows Antietam Creek in Strasburg, Shenandoah County overflowing.

Parts of the state have already received substantial rainfall over the last few days, with a flood warning issued in Baltimore over the weekend as parts of the capital saw waterlogged roads and consistent downpour.

Evacuation orders have been issued in the coastal Carolinas, where the Category 4 hurricane is expected to make landfall on Thursday.
