Mount Agung Eruption Threatens to Disrupt Flights in Bali

Mount Agung, located on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali, erupted on Thursday, June 28, emitting a plume of volcanic ash that reached up to 6,500 feet (2,000 metres) above the volcano.Spokesman of the National Disaster Management Authority Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the Ngurah Rai International Airport was operating normally but some airlines had cancelled flights.The Jakarta Post reported that the airport was assessing whether to temporarily halt operations and had issued a warning to airlines that ash may disrupt flights.This time lapse footage shows the eruption on Thursday.
