Bali Airport Reopens After Volcano Eruptions Force Two-Day Shutdown

Ngurai Rai International Airport, where travelers in Bali had been stranded due to a shutdown caused by Mount Agung’s eruptions, reopened on Wednesday, November 29.Flights resumed at 3 pm that day after the Bali airspace was deemed safe for flights, The Jakarta Post reported.During the closure, several flights inbound for Bali had been redirected to neighboring airports in Indonesia, with one flown to Singapore. More than 450 flights were cancelled, according to Channel News Asia.While operations had resumed, travelers reported a lack of flights as the airport dealt with a backlog of almost 90,000 passengers.Authorities were monitoring the activity of Mount Agung for any changes in development.
