15% of S. Korean teens addicted to smartphones

More school children in Korea are becoming addicted to their smartphones,... according to a government report.
A survey conducted by the gender ministry on one-point-three million students enrolled in the fourth grade, and the first years of middle and high school,... found that more than 15 percent are excessively dependent on the internet and their smartphones.
The figure represents a zero-point-nine percent rise from the year before.
While the number of internet and smartphone addicted middle and high school students hovered around the same level as last year,... there was a significant increase among the fourth graders.
Female students were also at greater risk of becoming addicted due to the rise in the number of online games as well as online videos and content for girls.
