Senate finally unveils secret health care bill
  • 7 years ago
The majority of the Senate finally got a closer look at the closely guarded GOP health care bill. A few key elements: cut backs on federal support of Medicaid and the elimination of Obamacare's taxes on the wealthy, insurers and others. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hopes to have a vote next week, leaving senators only a few days to decide whether to support or not. The measure also helps people who purchase insurance out of pocket, known as the individual marketplace, afford the insurance through tax credits based on income. The CBO analysis of the House bill says that 23 million people would lose insurance in the next decade under their bill.
