Study reveals the safest seat on plane
A study on crash data revealed the safest place to sit on a plane. Two studies analyzed data from plane crashes in the U.S. since 1971, and passengers seated near the tail of the plane had a 69-percent survival rate compared to other parts of the craft. As for seats over the wing and in coach, there was a 56-percent survival rate, and the seats in the front of the plane had 49-percent. One of the studies also found that specifically, middle seats in the rear had the lowest fatality rate at 28-percent. The least safe seats were those in the aisle of the middle third cabin.
