Friends told mum-of-two Holly, 30, that Poppy's happy gurgling noises were probably just wind but she was convinced her baby was trying to communicate.
She told Mail Online : "She was a smiley, happy baby right from the start. She was making sounds and flashing me proper smiles, so I started filming her all the time."Holly, of Bromley, London, added: "She was making noises and moving her mouth, as if she wanted to say something. I took a few videos, and then on the last one I watched her mouth move as she said "hello!''Holly's elder daughter Paige, six, says 'Hello' to Poppy every day, she said.
In the video Poppy is wearing a jumper that says 'Hello' in English, Spanish and French and can be seen grinning in response to her mum's encouragement.
Babies do not normally learn to talk until they are about a year old, so Holly and fiancé Ben could scarcely believe what they had seen, and have re-watched the video over and over.
Holly added: "Now we’re wondering what she’ll say next!"
