Hala means plough and asana means pose. Halasana in Sanskrit therefore means the plough pose.

Technique

Halasana usually starts by lying flat on the floor.
Keep the toes and heels close together and place the palms on the floor.
Now stretch your toes and inhale bringing the head upwards.
Now you will have all the three in a straight line.
Breathe out, keep the legs down, and bring them towards your head.
now try touching the ground in front of the head as well as your toes.
Keep a steady breath and you may repeat the entire process.
