NYPD bust homeless identity thief in this poor man's 'Catch Me If You Can'
NEW YORK CITY — New York City police finally caught up with Rafal Bogun, a 33-year-old homeless man who was suspected of identity theft.

Police allege Bogun gathered people's secure personal details while working a temp job at a law firm. He used that information to take out credit cards and book hotels in the New York area. The essentially homeless man also made online purchases with new credit cards taken out in the victim's names.

Investigators also had Bogun on camera picking up items at Walmart that he purchased with one of the illicit cards. Bogun jacked about 20 identities and evaded police for over a year.

Bogun's spending spree ended when he was busted advertising a discounted Amtrak ticket to an undercover cop at New York's Penn Station. He was charged with fraud, identity theft and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
