Philippines typhoon toll reaches 540

Four days after a deadly typhoon hammered the Philippines, the grim search for bodies continues.

At least 540 people died when typhoon Bopha slammed into the southern part of the country last week.

The devastation was concentrated on the island of Mindanao, where entire villages were destroyed.

Meanwhile, those who survived are facing severe shortages of food and water.

Many lined up for supplies, being handed out by the government.

"We are suffering here because our work, our crops, everything's been destroyed."

Humanitarian agencies say some 5.4 million people affected by the typhoon urgently need food, potable water and shelter.
