ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

Large crowds turned out in Monaco on Wednesday (January 7) to greet the royal family's month-old baby twins, Gabriella and Jacques, who made their first appearance on the royal palace's balcony. Their parents, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, presented the new borns to flag-waving onlookers. Both royals stood on the balcony, each holding a baby swaddled in white. They smiled and waved for the crowds who cheered and applauded and released balloons into the sky in celebration. All being well, one day baby Jacques will himself become ruler of the tiny principality. According to Monaco's rules, as a boy Jacques takes precedence over his sister in the succession, although she is older by 2 minutes. The twins were born on December 10 at the Princess Grace Hospital, named after their grandmother, film star Grace Kelly who died in a car crash in 1982.
