Amateur videos posted to a social media website appear to show heavy shelling in areas of Homs.
One video, said to be shot on Thursday (July 5), shows plumes of smoke billowing from buildings along with a series of explosions.
In another video two rebels watch as smoke and flames rise from the wreckage of what a narrator says in Arabic is a helicopter that was fired on by rebels.
Reuters can not independently verify the content of these videos.
Meanwhile, on Friday (July 6), protesters in Aleppo call for political change, while the "Friends of Syria" group holds a third forum Paris in an attempt to end the violence that began nearly 16 months ago.
