Amateur video out of Syria appears to show the relentless shelling of Homs.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes a day after the UN suspended its mission in the country because of overwhelming violence.

Activists say at least 11 people were killed Sunday amid intensified Syrian army shelling with dozens wounded.

Many hundreds of people, including civilians, rebels, government forces, have been killed in the two months since a UN backed ceasefire deal was supposed to come into effect.

Many children have been caught in the cross fire.

Observers say what began as a popular uprising some 15 month ago appears to be moving closer towards a civil war, as major powers struggle to craft a plan to help end the violence.
