Officials say Mubarak seriously ill

Egyptian Security officials and local media are reporting a severe deterioration in the health of deposed Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.

The 84-year-old's health has been on the decline since he was sentenced to life on June 2 for his role in the killing of hundreds of protesters during last year's popular uprising that toppled him.

His supporters are demanding that he is transferred from prison to the hospital immediately.

Some Egyptians are skeptical about the reports

"They want people to feel sympathy for him so they accept it when he is moved to a five-star palace. When people are quiet then it's over, the Egyptian people are kind and they will swiftly forget about him."

Mubarak ruled Egypt for 30 years, before he was ousted from power during Egypt's uprising. Security sources now say that that he was recently was given artificial respiration five times in one day.
