A crashed cargo plane lies in the dirt near Ghana's Accra airport on Saturday.

It overshot the runway on landing and slammed into a minivan, killing at least 10 people.

The Boeing 727 was operated by Nigerian cargo airline Allied Air, according to an official of Ghana Airport Company.

The plane had taken off from Lagos, Nigeria but failed to stop before the end of the runway after it touched down just after 7 pm local time.

A Reuters witness saw a mangled minivan and 10 bodies next to the crashed plane.

Flights in and out of the airport were not affected, and officials didn't say what the airplane was carrying.
