It was a dog day in Los Angeles as Uggie, the now superstar canine of silent film "The Artist," hit Hollywood for the nominations for the first annual "Dog News Daily" Golden Collar Awards - which honor dogs in film.
Uggie was joined by his "Artist" colleague Penelope Ann Miller, who announced the nominees for best dog in a theatrical film.
Miller said she was happy her four-legged colleague was getting some recognition.
SOUNDBITE: Penelope Ann Miller saying (English):
"I think there is one scene where I throw a newspaper at the dog and I felt horrible because I do love dogs, but he was a good little actor that dog. I think he deserves all the accolades that he's getting."
Uggie himself seemed to enjoy his newfound fame.
The Golden Collar Awards will be handed out on February 13.
