The next bail-out package for the euro is scheduled to be approved by the German parliament at the end of the month. Billions in guarantees are at stake. However, German chancellor Angela Merkel is facing growing opposition to the move from within her own coalition. The Free Democrats are taking a euro-critical course, and have been further compromised by their disastrous showing in Berlin's recent regional elections. And the Christian Socialists aren’t happy either.
