Self-Defense Workout: Jam Punch into Elbow - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats.

We are going to take a look at a jamming a punch to your body and then following up with an elbow. So if Nicole will face me, she's in a neutral stance and I come to attack her with a punch to her body. So really in street fights they are not trained fighters. Their punches are going to be wild. They are going to come from all sorts of crazy angles.

So in this case I come with a wide punch to her body and she steps forward and jams my punch. Now, in order for any fighting to be effective, it has to be at the proper range. So for my punch to be effective she has to be at the end of my punch. If she steps forward now and stops me before my punch is very effective, now i haven't achieved my goal. Now she has been successfully defensive.

So from here when she jams that punch, she is going to come in with her elbow and hit me in the ribs right there. Good, if you could step back. Now as I step forward again, here she jams me and in with the elbow. Elbow can be quiet painful.

After that one elbow, she can follow up with an elbow up high or she can follow up to the groin. Remember this is not for self defense, it is no for sport, it is just to keep you safe. So one more time looking at the jam, she wants to kill my range, here 1 and 2 there. And that made me buy her enough time to escape or at least get home safe. So if she will do it into the camera, here if you are doing it on your own you will see it starts from neutral stance.

Stepping forward, covering your head, and coming in with the elbow, there, and back. Good, one more time. Stepping forward, covering, in with the elbow, and back. Good! And if you practice it from both sides, several repetitions, it will be a great workout. Stepping forward using your legs, using your upper body, your shoulders, your biceps, your triceps. Great workout, also great for defense. jamming the punch, into an elbow.
