00:00:31It's Tony Ciavone, the Living Legend Larry Zabizcal, and the one, the only,

00:00:38And boy, oh boy, has this been a draining day already in professional wrestling.
00:00:44It's been a day full of surprises.
00:00:47Good to have you with us for three solid hours.
00:00:50During the course of the day, we always get here early, but
00:00:53the WCW Championship Committee were meeting at the JW Marriott downtown in
00:00:59Houston, Texas.
00:01:00It was a closed door meeting, no press, no one could get in.
00:01:03But this man right here, Mike Tanay, was on the outside waiting until the meeting
00:01:08was over.
00:01:09And Mike, you have some big news that you found out as a result of that meeting
00:01:13earlier today.
00:01:14Several hours outside that closed door meeting, Tony, and we can now
00:01:17officially tell you that the main item that was discussed was Goldberg's demand
00:01:23that he have a match with Bam Bam Bigelow.
00:01:26Now, he went to the WCW Executive Committee, and they reminded Goldberg that
00:01:30there's a stipulation in place that he cannot defend the world's heavyweight title
00:01:35until his match with Kevin Nash at Starrcade.
00:01:38He was emphatic.
00:01:39A man obsessed.
00:01:40He demanded Bam Bam Bigelow, and the executive committee answered that request.
00:01:45Tonight, in front of this record crowd at the Astrodome, it will be Goldberg versus Bam Bam
00:01:52Bigelow in a non-title matchup.
00:01:53That is one of the biggest main events we've ever had on this program, Living Legend.
00:01:57A champion that will not take on any contender, any opposition isn't worth his weight in salt.
00:02:04Our champion is worth his weight in Goldberg.

00:13:43What a wild brawl that was in Chattanooga, Tennessee, out in the parking lot.
00:13:48All throughout the backstage area in Tennessee at Nitro last Monday.
00:13:53Well, I think if one thing, if Bam Bam Bigelow had on his mind to get under the skin of Goldberg,
00:13:59he certainly succeeded to the point where Goldberg demanded the match.
00:14:02And the WCW Executive Committee stepped up to the plate, and we're going to deliver it this evening.

00:15:50Well, Diamond Dallas Page is one of those wrestlers that you just can't keep down.
00:15:55We've seen it over the course of the past couple of years.
00:15:57No matter whether it's rips or tape, no matter what the condition, DDP is ready to go.

00:19:13In my accounting career, I asked for a leave of absence for just the summer
00:19:16so that I can really just concentrate on pursuing dancing.
00:19:19And I was fortunate enough that they were able to grant that to me.
00:19:22And in doing that, I was able to, you know, get more opportunities and more opportunities
00:19:26and more work and more work.
00:19:28And so finally, I was able to make that transition.
00:19:30At that point, I had made a decision that I wanted to go from being a full-time accountant
00:19:34to a full-time performer.
00:19:36And the Nitro Girls has allowed me to do that.
00:19:45One thing that I do is I dance for Left Eye Productions, which is run by Lisa Lopez from the group TLC.
00:19:52And I think that the things that I learned here, I'm able to bring over to the Nitro Girls as well.
00:19:56I think that the values that somebody has has to do with what was instilled in them when they were raised.
00:20:10And I think that my mother and my father bringing me up with those values in mind was definitely the root of who I am today.
00:20:20I think that I relate more to the Latino side of my upbringing just because I view myself that way.
00:20:30I think I look Puerto Rican.
00:20:32And, you know, I try to live my life just as a genuinely good person.
00:20:36I don't, you know, try to hurt anybody and do anything bad.
00:20:40And, you know, I try to accomplish the goals that I set.
00:20:43And, you know, hopefully what I do might rub off on somebody in a good way.
00:20:48That would be a great thing.
00:20:49A very good friend of mine who is also the choreographer of Left Eye Productions, Chuck Maldonado.
00:21:01He's also Puerto Rican, so that might be why we kind of just hit it off when we first met.
00:21:05I've known her for two years.
00:21:07I met her during auditions for the Ina Hawks dance team.
00:21:10I only had one opportunity where I had a solo.
00:21:13You get to pick what you want to do or who you work with.
00:21:16She came to me and said, Chuck, look, I really want you to help me choreograph.
00:21:20When I saw it on TV, it was incredible.
00:21:22She did an awesome job.
00:21:23She made me look good.
00:21:30What I love to do is perform.
00:21:31What I love to do is just get on stage and smile and put all the energy that I have into the movements that I do and, you know, give to the audience.
00:21:39And when I'm doing that, I'm the happiest.

00:21:48As we head along into the biggest single match of the year for the world title Goldberg and Kevin Nash at StarCase.
00:21:56Last week, if you recall, on this program, we had the contract signing.
00:22:00But the contract signing was interrupted.
00:22:02And it started when Bam Bam Bigelow bought a ticket with the ring sign.
00:22:06Just when you thought Vince couldn't get any crazier, by golly, would you look at this.
00:22:13Here he comes, the man who was undefeated.
00:22:16This document will represent the meeting of these two men at StarCase.
00:22:22Gene, we got a problem at ringside.
00:22:24And a good big security of Doug Dillinger at the fence right there.

00:23:21And they came away with what I think is a quick decision.
00:23:24For the fans, according to what Goldberg wanted.
00:23:27But if you sit back and you think about it, it's something that Goldberg is not me.
00:23:31We are 20 days away from his biggest match, the biggest match of his career,
00:23:36his biggest title defense, and he's gotta face a man like Bam Bam Bigelow, Larry?
00:23:41Well, I tell you, you're right.
00:23:42He doesn't need it right now, but with everything taken into the picture,
00:23:45you know, it's probably best to get it over with us.
00:23:48Two and a half weeks to Starrcade, get rid of Bam Bam Bigelow.
00:23:51This is the way to do it.
00:23:52Put him in the ring with Goldberg, and be done with it.
00:23:55Well, you can't deny that Bam Bam Bigelow's mind games have just played out to perfection,
00:24:00with Goldberg demanding the match, and the WCW Executive Committee answering Goldberg,
00:24:06allowing that match to take place.
00:24:07But I question whether Goldberg realizes exactly what he's getting involved with.
00:24:13This is one dangerous individual.
00:24:15It's a dangerous individual, that's why it's better to get rid of it now.
00:24:18You don't wanna go into Starrcade against Kevin Nash,
00:24:21a very confident man with Bam Bam on your brain.
00:24:27So that non-title matchup will be coming off as our feature bout tonight

01:04:36from the top turnbuckle, had to endure one of the biggest choke slams ever seen.
01:04:42That led to Bret Hart becoming the US Heavyweight champion.
