00:01:51at Bash of the Beach, what a week it's been, and what a great three-hour program we have for you.

00:02:41that Goldberg, one week ago, lit up the entire wrestling world.
00:02:49Ladies and gentlemen, this telecast originates from the MGM Grand and the Garden Arena.
00:02:56For over 15,000 fans are in attendance tonight, WCW Monday Nitro makes a return visit
00:03:02to Las Vegas and the Strip.

00:03:09And we are sure during the next three hours, we're gonna talk a lot about what went down
00:03:13last night at the Bash at the Beach.
00:03:16We're gonna discuss in its entirety in detail what happened with Goldberg.
00:03:21And we're gonna show you tonight how Goldberg became World Heavyweight Champion.
00:03:25Well, one week ago on this program, Goldberg wins the World Heavyweight Championship.
00:03:32And even the Living Legend himself donning the Goldberg T-shirt this week.

00:18:20Hollywood Hogan and the worm Dennis Rodman arrive.
00:18:23Of course, Diamond Dallas Page with Carl Malone showing the signs of the diamond cutter.
00:18:28Malone begins things.
00:18:29Carl Malone proved to us that he is one phenomenal athlete.
00:18:32As a matter of fact, he took on Hollywood Hogan, a variety of great moves.
00:18:36Diamond Dallas Page, or you see, with almost like a chokehold on the worm.
00:18:40But Hollywood Hogan, during the course of the night, really put it into high gear.
00:18:45Chokeholds, elbow drops.
00:18:46Hollywood Hogan had things going his way.
00:18:48As a matter of fact, he and Dennis Rodman were working great as a tag team.
00:18:52They kept Diamond Dallas at bay as Carl Malone was reaching in.
00:18:55Then later on, finally, DDP did make the tag to Carl Malone.
00:18:59And Malone comes back in like a house of fire, taking charge of the whole match.
00:19:05Had the fans literally on their feet.
00:19:07He's showing the fans the sign of the diamond cutter and holding true to form.
00:19:11DDP puts it on Hollywood Hogan.
00:19:14But then when the referee's back was turned, the Apocalypse came in.
00:19:18Or the Disciple came in, put the Apocalypse on.
00:19:21And thus, Hollywood Hogan and the worm Dennis Rodman, thanks to Disciple,
00:19:26comes away with the win in the main event last night that had everyone around the world talking.

00:19:34Well, it certainly was quite an exciting evening at Bash at the Beach.
00:19:38The entire sports and entertainment world still talking about it today.

00:29:27But James J. Dillon, WCW's commissioner, came in and fooled him because here came Ray Mysterio Jr.
00:29:34First time we had seen Ray since a severe knee injury that's sidelining for so many months.
00:29:39And then, of course, Chris Jericho went to work on that once injured knee, trying to take Ray Mysterio out once and for all.
00:29:47It proved unsuccessful.
00:29:48Ray Mysterio Jr. was up to the task.
00:29:51Jericho had him in the clutches, had him in that lion tamer of his.
00:29:55But Jericho, as he had him in there, here comes Dean Malenko.
00:29:59That enables Ray Mysterio Jr. to win the WCW Cruiserweight belt.

00:49:34Going to take you back to San Diego once again for Bash at the Beach last night.
00:49:39And what a television title battle it was.
00:49:41Spread the hit, Man Hart, getting his shot at the title held by the one and only Booker T.
00:49:46Once again, a match, everything we thought it would be.
00:49:49A very brutal matchup.
00:49:50Bret Hart, the master, using everything he can.
00:49:52But it came down to a series of kicks.
00:49:54Booker T, that spin wheel kick, that Harlem side kick that he uses, that axe kick.
00:49:59And of course, from the top rope, his missile drop kick.
00:50:02But it took Bret Hart, wielding a chair, causing a disqualification to end the match.
00:50:08Booker T holds onto the belt, but that was not the story.
00:50:11After the disqualification, Bret Hart puts the legs around the ring post, puts on a figure
00:50:17four leg lock.
00:50:19Stevie Ray calmly strolls out and helps his brother back.
00:50:24Well, obviously, Booker T is injured.
00:50:27We are not sure about the severity of the injuries.
00:50:29He is still the World Television Champion.
00:50:31But there was no question, Professor Mike, last night, it was a case of one Bret Hart trying
00:50:37to end a great champion's career.
00:50:39Well, Tony, I can't update us on the Booker T injury situation, because right before we
00:50:44went on the air, I spoke with Dr. Michael Cappella, the physician that we just saw out
00:50:48here earlier, along with Buff Bagwell.
00:50:51And I can tell you that Booker T suffered a torn meniscus, a second-degree tear of the
00:50:56medial collateral ligament.
00:50:58He's going to undergo scoped knee surgery in Atlanta later this week.
00:51:03Looks like he's going to be out anywhere between four and six weeks.
00:51:06Well, that's good when they have arthroscopic surgery compared to major reconstructive
00:51:10surgery.
00:51:11That's the difference between four to six weeks and about six months.
00:51:15Yeah, but overall, it's not good at all, because those injuries add up over the years.
00:51:20And Booker T, phenomenal athlete that he is.
00:51:22He was only hurt because the man right there, Bret Hart, who claims he's the best there ever
00:51:27was and ever will be, couldn't beat Booker T, and took the low row and tried to take him
00:51:33out of wrestling.
00:51:34But the whole story to me at Bash at the Beach in that matchup was the lack of concern from
00:51:39brother Stevie Ray.
00:51:41The way that he just nonchalantly came out to ringside, his brother obviously in serious
00:51:46pain and injured.
00:51:48He walked right by Bret the Hitman Hart, didn't exchange any words, no physical exchange between
00:51:54the two at all.
00:51:54Very strange situation.
00:51:56Well, it not only came down to how calmly he strolled out and ignored Bret Hart, the
00:52:00fact that we knew that Stevie Ray was in the building.
00:52:03He had a match prior to that matchup.
00:52:06And he came out really after the fact.
00:52:09He came out when it was all said and done, when the injury had gone down.
00:52:13I don't know if he was in the shower.

00:59:52Had his medial collateral ligament completely reconstructed in surgery.
00:59:57You see he's still wearing a brace on that knee.
