00:01:42Well, gentlemen, living legend Mike Tenet, yes, Eric Bischoff won last night.
00:01:49There is no question that he won.
00:01:51And he won because he, many reasons, but as you saw the celebration go on in the limousine
00:01:57as he defeated Ric Flair last night, he certainly had the deck stacked in his favor.
00:02:02Well, there was no question about that, Tony.
00:02:03It was a historic yet very disappointing night, I think, on many fronts for world championship wrestling at Starrcade.
00:02:10Our nation's capital, Washington, D.C., the site.
00:02:13The deck was stacked against the Nature Boy.
00:02:15The four horsemen were barred from the building.
00:02:18The abuser of power, Eric Bischoff, again, wielding that power, the dictatorship that he's brought to WCW and the NWO.
00:02:26As big a story as that was, ladies and gentlemen, we do need to let you know.
00:02:30And I'm sure many of you, most of you, joined us last night.
00:02:33The streak is over.
00:02:35Kevin Nash, big sexy of the Wolfpack, is the heavyweight champion of the world.
00:02:40He defeated Goldberg with some help from Scott Hall as well.
00:02:44But there's celebration not only with Eric Bischoff in NWO black and white, but NWO Wolfpack.
00:02:50It was a historic night last night at Starrcade.
00:02:53All historic for the New World Order, but again, don't forget, the deck was stacked.
00:02:57I mean, it was a slap in the face against tradition with Bischoff pulled off with his abuse of power,
00:03:02his running the company, his banning the horsemen, the New World Order all behind one man, nobody behind Ric Flair.
00:03:09It just wasn't right.
00:03:11Kevin Nash is now the heavyweight champion of the world, and Eric Bischoff is running the company.
00:03:18Eric Bischoff certainly has a lot I know that's on his mind about what happened.

00:10:56And we often said what would it take to be the first man to defeat Goldberg, to put Goldberg's shoulders to the mat.
00:11:03And we found out last night what it took.

00:11:08It took Scott Hall with a stun gun with a taser in his hand that he hit Goldberg with to allow Kevin Nash to apply the jackknife powerbomb and the winning streak.
00:11:20A new world's champion was crowned.
00:11:22We've been concentrating on so many of the negatives of Starrcade last night.
00:11:26The Goldberg title loss, the fact that wrestling tradition was slapped in the face,
00:11:31especially by the participation of a second-generation wrestler like Kurt Hennig,
00:11:36when Kurt Hennig handed the foreign object to Eric Bischoff, allowing him to defeat Ric Flair.
00:11:42But how about a positive?
00:11:43Diamond Dallas Page, for the very first time, off the top rope, a new variation of the Diamond Cutter as he defeated the Giant at Starrcade.
00:11:53Another positive was Billy Kidman.
00:11:56Billy Kidman, given I really think, stepped up to the plate.
00:11:59And in the short period of time, has truly become one of the great cruiserweights ever,
00:12:03when he defeated not one, not two, but literally three men last night,
00:12:07including the impromptu match with Eddie Guerrero.
00:12:11The Cat, Sonny Ohno, in the ring, and we're into the ring here on WCW Monday Nitro.

00:16:01And trying to make a name for himself in WCW.
00:16:04But I don't think he realized what he got involved with here against the cat.
00:16:11And roundhouse kick him in just sitting down to the three count.
00:16:14And the cat wins again.
00:16:16And I tell you, I think one of the stories here is the fact that as long as the cat keeps challenging guys,
00:16:23people are going to keep coming out of the locker room to answer the challenge for the cat wins here once again.
00:16:29Let's go back once again to Starrcade last night.
00:16:31Show you some of the pictures from the historic night that went down between Nash and Goldberg for the world title.
00:16:38It was really the super heavyweight match of all time.
00:16:41The two big men showing their power, blocking up, submission holds on both ends.
00:16:46Kevin Nash and Goldberg, the big spear came early in the match.
00:16:49But as we said, it was Scott Hall dressed up as security guard who came in with the taser.
00:16:55Seth Goldberg right in the chest, not once but thrice, helping Kevin Nash secure the heavyweight championship of the world.
00:17:05We're back live on Nitro.
00:17:06There's been a lot of speculation, a lot of talk about what really happened to Ric Flair.
00:17:10As a matter of fact, I've even said I don't think he really had a heart attack.
00:17:13But we're gonna go back and show you exactly what happened.
00:17:16It was in Tampa, Florida a few weeks ago on this program.
00:17:20Flair dropped.
00:17:21He was clutching his left shoulder.
00:17:23We brought Gene Oakland in at that time like today.
00:17:25We all thought it was his shoulder injury because he has had a shoulder injury.
00:17:29But then Eric Bischoff then came out and said it was a mild heart attack.
00:17:33It was such a scary situation that went down just a couple of weeks ago
00:17:36as we see the emergency medical people take Ric Flair out of the arena.
00:17:41And Ric Flair was taken off to a hospital in Tampa
00:17:44and stayed there for observations.
00:17:46And then Eric Bischoff came out, said it was a mild heart attack.
00:17:51But Ric Flair bounced back awfully quickly from a mild heart attack.
00:17:54I attempted, as you know, in Charlotte to get to the bottom of it
00:17:58to find out his condition on Thunder.
00:18:01And then Bischoff brutally attacked the entire family
00:18:04was unable to get the word then from the family.
00:18:07Well, tonight, we're gonna have a punch time.
00:18:09We're gonna go by satellite to Ric's doctor in Charlotte, North Carolina by satellite.
00:18:13And we are going to find out exactly what happened to him, his condition,
00:18:18as it relates to what's going on right now.
00:18:20I mean, there's no question he did lose last night.
00:18:23But we're a little bit more about himself than we are his win-loss record right now.
00:18:28Well, good. It's about time.
00:18:29Let's set the record straight tonight on Nitro.
00:18:31Norman Smiley has come to the ring for a matchup here on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:18:43Fans also, we got a little, we think it's gonna be something very interesting for you to watch.
00:18:48As you know, Raven, who has been downtrodden, Raven who has, I guess, been depressed, I don't know,
00:18:55needs some clinical help.
00:18:56And his mother came out here, took her son away.
00:19:00And I do understand his mother has allowed some of his therapy or some of his relations at home to be videotaped.
00:19:08And we're gonna be showing you some of those to give maybe a little insight into what makes Raven tick or, I guess, not tick over the past couple of months.
00:19:17What makes him talk.
00:19:18Very good.
00:19:19And we want to thank Mrs. Levy for allowing us to bring our WCW cameras into that situation to document everything about Raven's reunion with his mother.
00:19:29I know his mother was very serious about it here last week, talking about the fact that Raven needed to go back and see his doctor again.
00:19:37We're gonna see that all later on in this program and, of course, on Pins and Needles to find out the condition of Ric Flair.
00:19:45Last night, I don't think there was any question Ric Flair was in rear form, looked good, chased Bischoff, stalked Bischoff,
00:19:53held it, unmercifully punched and kicked Bischoff.
00:19:56But in the end, it was Curt Henning coming out with a porn object to help things out.
00:20:04Maybe we should get another doctor and have Chavo look at him, get rid of the horse.
00:20:07I don't think any doctor needs a look at Chavo.
00:20:09I think we can diagnose him right up here at the point.
00:20:12And we think he's nuts.
00:20:14End of story.

00:20:23I never thought, you know, we all knew that sooner or later, all things come to an end.
00:20:28So one man was gonna be the man to defeat Goldberg, but the string went to 173.
00:20:34And I still go back and I relive what happened last night.
00:20:38And I think it's very apparent.
00:20:40I watched some video tape this morning of the last match.
00:20:43Kevin Nash did not see what Scott Hall did, had his back turned.
00:20:48He did not realize.
00:20:49As a matter of fact, there was a look of shock that we got on tape of Kevin Nash when he turned around that Goldberg was still hurting, still down.
00:20:57He fell out of the ring, he fell onto the apron, he fell onto the floor clutching his chest.
00:21:02Kevin Nash did not realize what went down.
00:21:04Now, I don't know if he does now or not.
00:21:06Since that went down, I'm sure he's seen the video tape, but that was quite an experience last night for us to witness a history making match.
00:21:14Well, it appeared to me during the match, when we were there live in Washington, D.C., that Kevin Nash did not have any idea that Scott Hall had interfered in that matchup.
00:21:23Yes, the streak came to an end, but it's just the way that Goldberg was beaten, I think, that makes it so difficult for a lot of us to swallow.
00:21:31I'm not gonna swallow that undefeated record right off the bat, because it took more than one man whether Nash knew about it then.
00:21:39The way the rumors spread, he knows about it now.
00:21:42Sure he does, and that does not take away from a well-prepared Kevin Nash, who was prepared for Goldberg, who pushed Goldberg.
00:21:50Goldberg, as always, was ready to fight.
00:21:52And to me, that put a little bit of a damper on what was a great big man match.

00:23:02And boy, has it paid off as of late with a winning streak for Norman Smiley,

00:32:23But you can really say the same for Baltimore here in the Inner Harbor area, Mike.
00:32:27Of course, this building has been the site of so many historic matchups through the year,
00:32:31and many of them involve the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
00:32:34And I expect that when Flair comes out later this evening on Nitro,
00:32:39he is going to be greeted with a response that you would not believe here in Baltimore, Maryland,
00:32:45which has to be later wrestling country.

00:34:44that the world's TV title has just gained prestige,
00:34:48because you're gaining so much more exposure with that TV championship belt.
