The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has issued RM445,800 in compound fines to Singaporean motorists entering Malaysia without the required Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) between July 1 and Saturday (Aug 2).
On Sunday (Aug 4), JPJ senior enforcement director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan reported that 1,489 summonses were issued during Ops Penguatkuasaan VEP a month-long enforcement operation targeting foreign-registered vehicles entering through Johor.
