00:00It's a new build. I thought this is a reno show. You told me we were renoing.
00:04Previously on The Block...
00:06They're so big.
00:08They are massive.
00:09Five new teams arrived in a brand new location.
00:12Dasvid is beautiful.
00:14One of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
00:18The perfect setting for season 21 of The Block.
00:22There is a lot to do.
00:24Come on in. This is it. Welcome to The Block.
00:25No stress levels? All right?
00:27Oh no, stress levels to the roof.
00:28You just got to look. We've got to look like you know what you're doing.
00:30We're doing bathroom week one!
00:33Just a bit overwhelmed.
00:36There's no hiding from anything.
00:38You've got a camera in your face in the first second.
00:40One way or another, I'm getting membrane on that floor.
00:43It's Waterproof Wednesday after all.
00:45Lots going on.
00:47You are getting a little worried.
00:49A little bit. Worrying doesn't do much.
00:51You're not going to worry your room into existence.
00:53You think you're going well one second,
00:55the next three curveballs are throwing it out.
00:57There's a big storm brewing.
01:03The pressure was on.
01:04These guys are in a world of pain right now.
01:06Oh my God.
01:08Waterproofing!
01:09We haven't got there yet.
01:11Right.
01:12What's a barber and a hairdresser doing finishing their waterproofing before everyone else?
01:21Let me just say, you have made it a cut above the rest.
01:26Are you really proud of yourself?
01:28Benny, you see all these big blobs everywhere?
01:31Yeah, yeah.
01:32I got knocked back from the waterproofing.
01:35What the hell is that?
01:37Hey!
01:38What are you doing?
01:40I just asked you like five minutes ago, you're not allowed to waterproof.
01:43If I give you an instruction, you can't disobey it.
01:46So you've disobeyed my instruction.
01:49So now I've lost trust here.
01:50No, I don't believe it.
01:51No, I've lost trust.
01:52Because you've just gone behind my back.
01:56You're gearing up for another day on the block.
02:06Waterproof Wednesday turns into a one coat Wednesday.
02:09But at least we got something on the ground.
02:12So we'll finish waterproofing this morning and I'll have someone tiling by this afternoon.
02:17Would have been nice to get two coats on last night if there was a big storm last night.
02:26Then probably 45 minutes later it was gone.
02:38I've got my waterproofer here first thing this morning and just get tracking.
02:43Our house is different in the way it's got the brick.
02:47And out of all the facades, it's probably the best facade.
02:50The interior layout of our team's houses is exactly the same.
02:54So it will be down to the finer details to make their bathroom stand out from the rest.
02:59So the vision that we are going for is trying to keep it quite earthy.
03:04And we're trying to weave our way around having a shower screen.
03:08So we would love just essentially, you know, a wet area.
03:11Just earthy and organic and warm, I think.
03:14Moody.
03:15Moody.
03:16We're in a pretty good place.
03:17I'm confident we'll be right by Sunday.
03:19After last night's storm, this morning's wake up is a little bit too cold for West Aussie Police Officer Taz.
03:26Freezing.
03:27The only reason I'm not wearing more layers is because they're all covered in plaster glue and other crazy stuff.
03:34stuff. So much different at home. It was cold. It was cold. Usually you can wake up and it's
03:43like 30 to 35 back home. But today's like 13 degrees, 14 degrees and feeling every bit
03:55of it. Week one, we're excited, we're good. We've made waterproof Wednesday. Waterproof's
03:59on the wall. Such a relief. Today's Thursday, so we've got to get the second coat of waterproofing
04:05on first thing this morning. Then we've got to get tiles on the floor. So that's our plan for today.
04:09As long as the floor's tiled, we can deal with the rest later on. We can start getting plumbed in by
04:14the end of the week. Instantly I was just drawn to the facade of house three. I feel like it just
04:20complements what I'm going with inside the house. And for Britt and Taz and house three, there's one
04:26keyword inspiring them in their bathroom design. Tranquil. Is tranquil a word? Tranquility. Tranquil.
04:33Tranquil's a word, isn't it? Tranquil. Yeah. Yeah, I know. I was just asking. So my idea is that you
04:39walked in the door and you'd save your shower with a half nib wall which curves around. With a
04:44freestanding bath that also curves around that nib wall. Beautiful curved fluted glass. Beautiful curved
04:51fluted vanity. Beautiful. The bathroom's the main objective today but we need to start planning for
04:56landscaping week in, you know, eight weeks, nine weeks because that'll win this game. I have found
05:03something on Marketplace on the down low. There's a tree that I want to go dig out about an hour away.
05:08So hopefully I can go steal the van and we can go for a cruise and I can go dig out some trees.
05:14How are you doing? Good morning. Feeling good. Heading into pre-stop.
05:23Oh shit. Happy Thursday. Bit of a change in weather, isn't it? It's muddy and slippery out there too so be
05:31very mindful of that today. Stick to the walkways please. If you've got any deliveries we need to know
05:37about it specifically traffic. Okay, we'll have a good day. Stay safe and we'll chat tomorrow. Cheers.
05:46How were you this morning? Feeling chipper, that's what. After yesterday's little mini cyclone that
05:54went through for a good hot 20 minutes. Spent two and a half hours yesterday on my hands and knees
05:59blow drying the floor and the water's literally coming in through the window. You stupid boy.
06:05Hello. And then from the window and then we're sort of going to sleep underneath. Doing a dance.
06:10I seeping underneath the window was the water found the star.
06:19House number five. Definitely not rustic but the classic vibe but just a bit cleaner.
06:26So what are the key features you need for your bathroom? A bath, a shower and a hand towel and a sink.
06:33Snap. We're halfway there.
06:35It's that simple. Yep, absolutely. Chuck in a tile, bit of grout and a couple of hot tradies
06:41to lay it all and you know what? You have a bathroom like this. Dreamland. It's almost eight o'clock.
06:48We are halfway through our second coat for waterproofing. A little issue with our title,
06:55with his certificate of currency. Just need to be changed so he's currently in block prison.
06:59Not a great place to be in block prison. The block prison is the site office for inductions. Our
07:11Tyler had everything up to date. Just his certificate of currency wasn't supplied and he cannot supply
07:18that until that office opens for insurance. So as soon as that's open, he'll get an email. He'll be back
07:23on site probably another half hour. So as soon as he's out, we'll finish off the waterproofing and then
07:27we're probably going to have two hours of drying and then hopefully we're going to get approval
07:31maybe around 10, 10.30. The in-floor heating guys are going to come in, do the in-floor heating,
07:36which should take an hour and a half. Do the flooring and they should be here till about five o'clock.
07:42We should be all tiled by today. All we need is the tiler to get out of block prison and get into house
07:48number five. You've got a little makeshift office. Yeah.
07:57The Bunnings office. Got a good desk, get a good seat. Yeah, it'll do.
08:05House number one. Top of the court, highest elevation with the best view. Can you guys
08:11believe that you're standing in the block? I know. I know, it's so wild. It's still surreal. It's sort of
08:15sunk in now. We're in the thick of it. Yeah we are. We're well and truly in the thick of it now. With all
08:20five houses only getting one coat of waterproofing on yesterday, everyone is pushing to have their
08:26second coat dry, ready and inspected so they can begin tiling today. Especially our most experienced
08:32renovators, Victorians Emma and Ben in house one. We've renovated seven bathrooms before. No,
08:38I think it's more than that. Ours is dry and quick. Ours is dry and quick. We've got two heaters,
08:41we've got three fans and a heat gun. So the whole design of the bathroom, I wanted it to be kind of
08:48warm spa vibes I guess in the Dalesford area. Green, inviting, mood lighting, a greeny bathroom.
08:55Yeah. When you have all this waiting time, how are you filling the time? We're planning. And I bought
09:01some soap. Is that mainly for Ben though? Yeah. Yeah, it is. I need it. I smell. Next door Perth's
09:10hand and can are positive in their chances of delivering a complete bathroom to the judges on
09:16Sunday. It's all humming along. I think everyone's doing really well this week. The fact that everyone
09:21did get some waterproofing on Wednesday is like insane. So good hustle. We've found our groove and
09:27our rhythms. So like, yeah, we'll be dancing. House two is our little home now. Our little passion
09:34project on the block. The design of our bathroom is a tranquil sanctuary with lots of rounded curves
09:41that make you feel at ease and peaceful. We have a beautiful curved wall in the shower and this finger
09:48tile floor to ceiling. And you know, like these very like special features that do mean the world to us.
09:53And now Han and Can just have to wait for their waterproofer slash Tyler to turn up and get their
10:00waterproofing inspected so they can continue work in their bathroom. Hi bud, how are ya?
10:04So Thursday morning, Tim our Tyler slept over his alarm after a big day waterproofing. He didn't hear
10:20it go off. He's like, I'm getting up now. He's an hour and a half away. So I was like, oh my god. I was
10:26like, no. We're running behind. Yeah, I'm hoping. Do you reckon that we got enough on last night or?
10:33Oh, there should be enough on. We did a really thick first coat of waterproofing last night and
10:39we had all the fans going. It was drying really quick for the first coat so we kind of just
10:43doubled up a little bit. And so it was kind of like a really thick coat and then we had like a half of a
10:51coat. So I was like, maybe it'll pass. So I called Dan in for an inspection. I was going around and
10:57then he went around behind me. So it was like a working second coat. So I've gone in for the
11:01inspection and Hannah's sort of saying to me that they've kind of done one and a half coat,
11:05which I've never heard of. They were doing a working second coat, which I'm so confused by
11:10what that even is and what it means. So I thought I'd just give Ada a ring because he was here last night.
11:15Hey mate. Yeah, house two. I'm in here now. And they reckon they went over it when it was still
11:19slightly wet. Do you want to have a look? Hi. How are you going? I heard you're ready for an
11:27inspection. Yes, please. No, you're not. I was here last night when he couldn't get his second
11:32coat on and he's coming back to do his second coat. Second and a half. No, I'm serious.
11:39So no, he was like, I think we might need it, but we've measured it all around. It was a thousand.
11:44Like I'm like, cause it was like, put first one on. I was going around and then he went around
11:49behind me. So it was like a working second coat and it's like all thick and it was more than,
11:54more than thick. That's not how it works. You can't do one coat. That would be one coat.
11:57For waterproofing, you need to do one coat. You got to let it fully cure. Then you do a second coat.
12:03There is no working coat. Two coats. It's fine. It's fine. I'll put another one.
12:06Is he covered? Um, yeah, maybe 20 minutes away. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, am I allowed to
12:16start? Nah, he has to start. He has to. He can do it. You can help him when he comes,
12:21but he has to do it. You can't start. All right. Yeah. Cause you're not licensed. Cool. Cool. Cool.
12:36Hey, what are you doing? He's here. Hey. He's here. No, he's not. He is. He's pulled up.
12:46What are you doing? I've just gone back into the house to see how progress is going. And I've just
12:50seen Hannah walk out with a brush and waterproofing. You can't be waterproofing. I just said you can't
12:56waterproof. It's here though. No, he's not. Where is he? Your shoes on. Cause you're not waterproofing.
13:04All right. I just asked you like five minutes ago, not allowed to waterproof. If I give you an
13:08instruction, you can't disobey it. You're not a licensed waterproofer. You're not allowed to
13:13waterproof. You're allowed to help waterproof if the waterproofer is in there doing the task.
13:19Like we said yesterday, he's not here and you've started waterproofing after I've asked you not to.
13:24So you've disobeyed my instruction. So now I've lost trust here. No, I didn't. No, I've lost trust.
13:31Because you've just gone behind my back.
13:40Hey, what are you doing? I just said you can't waterproof. If I give you an instruction,
13:46you can't disobey it. You're not a licensed waterproofer. You're not allowed to waterproof.
13:50You're allowed to help waterproof if the waterproofer is in there doing the task.
13:55So you've disobeyed my instruction. So now I've lost trust here.
13:59No, I didn't mean to. No, I've lost trust.
14:01Because you've just gone behind my back. I couldn't be any clearer.
14:05So the best thing is let's get out of here. Let's get the fan back in here.
14:11Dan shut me down. Told me that I wasn't allowed to touch anything.
14:15Yeah. Yeah.
14:24Yeah. I've stopped it now. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, mate. Bye.
14:30I was just talking to Ada. Like, because you've done that waterproofing, how does he now tick it off?
14:35You've got no proof that you're a waterproofer, a license. Yeah, I understand. It's his license.
14:39I'm understanding now. Yeah. I'm hearing you clearly now. I'm really, I actually, I'm genuinely
14:44sorry. Yeah. Because I thought, because I was doing it last night. Yeah. And because Tim's here
14:48and he's coming. But he's not here. He's not physically here. He just said he's just getting a
14:52few things from you. I am genuinely sorry. I don't want to lose your job. So this morning, like, you're
14:58sort of trying to get around and saying that you kind of did the two coats, when really you didn't. So
15:02that was okay. I'm like, okay, I'll let that go. Misunderstanding. Then I've given a clear
15:07instruction and then you've gone and right behind my back and done it anyhow. So this is where I'm
15:11thinking, hang on, there's some shifty things going on. Like, I'm starting to get, but that's,
15:16that's where I'm sort of at, at the moment. Yeah. He, like, thought I was being dodgy. Um,
15:24so yeah, that hit hard. I was like, genuine, like, I didn't want to, like, lose, for you to lose trust,
15:31because it's not my intention. I was like, I want to do everything right. And, um,
15:37I don't want you to lose trust in me. And he was, um. It's okay. Yeah. And I was like,
15:45I mean that from the bottom of my heart. There's so much information flying in the first week.
15:51And that was just one little parcel. And that's just a lesson. It would have happened at any point
15:55that you would have taken on a trade that you're not qualified for, because you're handy hand.
16:00And you can do it all. There's so much going on. And I think often when I'm focused on something,
16:06I don't really listen properly. So I am genuinely sorry for not listening properly and taking that
16:11on board. I'm not going to shut him down. He can come in waterproof. But you can't be doing that.
16:16Yeah. I don't want to lose your trust. I'm not trying to pull the wall or be shifty or nothing like
16:21that. So when he comes, you can't, I'm just going to let him do it now. Don't even help him. I just
16:25want him to do it. Yeah. Okay. All right. Thank you. Appreciate it. I'm like, I'm just like,
16:31disappointed in myself because I didn't listen. But live and learn.
16:51It's all right. It's all right. Okay. I'm really trying. I know you are.
16:59I know you are. I don't know how nice you are. I didn't listen.
17:04It's because you care. I drive my best. I know you are.
17:08I feel like I just got told off by my parents as a kid. It's a high pressure environment. You're
17:14trying to get a million things done really quickly. And she's a really committed, hard worker. And she
17:20likes to get her hands dirty and be across everything. So, you know, at home, we would
17:23be doing all of this by ourselves. But yeah, like, she's fine. She's resilient. She'll bounce back.
17:30I'm hopeful that we can get everything done.
17:35Next door in house three, West Aussie police officers, Britt and Taz, are waiting for the
17:39waterproofing to dry in their bathroom. Second coat's down. I've got two heaters and a giant fan
17:46from Hayley's hire just sitting on it, waiting for it to get dry. Once the waterproofing is dry,
17:51we get underfloor heating installed, and then we can start tiling over the top. And while they wait,
17:56Britt and Taz have turned their attention from inside their house to the vast outside.
18:01From day dot, they've said landscaping will probably win you the block this year. And we love that because
18:08we love landscaping. And driving through Dalesford, you see all these amazing back and front yards.
18:13You see the work that people put into them. So to sell this house, yes, your interior needs to
18:18be great, but your outdoors just needs to be next level. And Britt has wasted no time when it comes
18:24to planning how house three will make their outdoors next level. I needed to lock in a landscaper
18:31ASAP. I reached out to Troy from Lovett Landscaping. How you doing? Good, thanks to yourself. Nice to meet
18:37you. You too. House three. Yes, house three. Hopefully the best house on the block. Will be.
18:43It will be. It will be. Troy is not a stranger to the block from Lovett Landscaping. He has done it
18:48quite a few years now. Yep, Troy was with us last year. Wow, that's dramatic. And the year before
18:54that... This is fun. This is fun. And the year before that... That's a good route. And way, way before
19:02that, Troy starred in season three of The Saddle Club. What's that got to do with anything? Well, The Saddle Club
19:10was shot locally here in Dalesford. So, big block. Yeah. Lots going on. So for me, it's creating,
19:16like, we're going to have some curves inside. So creating those curves outside. Yep. Very resort
19:22style living is what we're going to be going for. Perfect. So you've got to budget about $500,000?
19:27Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one. That one. Awesome. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The size of the site is a lot larger
19:33than a residential block. You could arguably fit three previous block backyards into one of these
19:39places. So big space. Big space means a lot of things that need to be done, which means a lot of
19:43money. So therefore, they don't have a lot of money already. So therefore, they've got to win.
19:47Period. Win, win, win, win. You're probably wondering where Taz is. Yeah, where is Taz?
19:52I've come to this beautiful area just to the west of Melbourne to dig up this gorgeous two and a half,
20:06three metre tall lemon tree. And then I've found myself a fruit orchard. The owner of the place is
20:10like, I actually don't need a few of them. I said, well, where can we start? What can I take? We're
20:15sitting next to a peach tree. Pomegranate tree. I don't really eat pomegranates, but you know,
20:20it'll go well in a fruit orchard, I reckon. What an absolute dream of a thing to stumble across.
20:28Troy, I got Taz on the phone. He said he's digging out the lemon tree. He's realised there's two
20:33big peach trees behind. Can we get the peach trees as well? We can grab the two peach trees,
20:39but there's also a pomegranate tree. Do you want that one? Mate, we'll get whatever we can. Hustle is
20:45going to be our motto for this season. Hustle, hustle, hustle. It's looking like one, two, three,
20:51four, five, six fruit trees all up. Yeah, that's unreal. So I'm assuming you're not going to be
20:57able to dig all those out. So I'll get my guys over to dig them all out with machines. Probably wait
21:03maybe a few weeks, because once we dig them out, we'd like to put them into place straight
21:07straight away. The lemon tree, if you've dug it out, is fine, because that can go in a pot and
21:10that'll be, they're really tough. Beauty. But the other stuff we'll keep. Awesome. Awesome,
21:15Troy. It was about nine grand's worth of fruit trees, and she wanted 600 bucks for them. Bargain.
21:20No worries, I'll get to it. Unreal, mate. See you soon. Thank you so much. Cheers, guys. Bye.
21:26So you're saying we a lot? Of course. It's a team, yeah. Okay, so you're in? Absolutely I'm in.
21:30For sure. Definitely. I'm not coming all this way, but I don't want to be a part of a team,
21:35and I think this will be a pretty good team, so let's do it. Amazing. He was excited,
21:39I was excited, and we locked it in. We secured Troy Lovett. In house five, the boys' second coat
21:48of waterproofing seems to be drying well in their bathroom. Robbie, how are you, mate? Second coat
21:53done. Okay, beaut. So what, a couple of hours should be dry? Should be. We've got the fans and the
21:57heaters. Pumping away? If we can get this ticked off in the next hour and a half, we should be in
22:01line. I'm pretty confident. I'll come back in about an hour. Yeah, sounds good. All right,
22:05mate. Thanks, bud. Thanks a lot. As the boys play the waiting game in their bathroom,
22:09their attention turns to shopping and styling. Also, Rob, today we need to factor into the timeline
22:15to go to Kiten to pick some towels for the bathroom, and I'd like you to come with me,
22:22please, on this shopping adventure. Okay, if we get to go to McDonald's, I'll come. Also,
22:26I'm freaking out about the floor tiles. I think the contrasts are too similar.
22:30Really? Yeah, speaking to my partner, Alyssa,
22:31and just FaceTiming her and showing her the house in the bathroom.
22:35Hey. Hi. Hello. Showing her our tile selection,
22:38and she went, oh, they're very similar, the floor and the wall tiles.
22:43So Robbie's partner has called into question the tile selection that Matt made earlier this week.
22:49I like this texture on this one. And then my brain went in the loop, and I started panicking,
22:54and so I looked at it, I stared at it, I stared at it, I laid it out. I looked at it, and I was like,
22:57she's maybe right. And I was like, I think we need to go like a lighter floor tile just to break up the
23:03colour difference. Well, it's a bit too late now. Is it? It is, isn't it? Do you want to race to
23:10Beaumont now and give them a call and see if there's any... I need to get the waterproofing
23:14approved as soon as that's approved. And then I need to tell the tileer and they're in prison.
23:22And, um, then he can't do the floors. All right, cool. So then we're leaving it as it is? No.
23:27All right, cool. Do you want to call Beaumont then? Yep. Okay.
23:29All right. Let's go.
23:37Bathroom week on the block, and there's just three and a half days left till our teams reveal their
23:42first rooms to the judges. It's a busy block site, hard in house two. Since early this morning,
23:50Han has been hands off after being caught waterproofing unsupervised. I was like,
23:55really disappointed that Dan shut me down. And then, yeah, obviously Tim came a little bit later
24:00and then got stuck into it. When Dan came back, I pulled him aside and I had a chat and I was like,
24:08um, still, like, looking at him made me upset. So I was just like, hey, mate, like, I was like,
24:15genuinely, like, I didn't want to, like, lose, for you to lose trust because it's not my intention.
24:20I really don't want the trust to be broken. Week one, I understand it's a lot.
24:25It's very hard to have everything perfect and run smoothly. You can learn from it. Same as life.
24:29It's fine, mate. It's all good. Thank you. Yeah, we move on.
24:32Appreciate that. Yeah, yeah. Without Han, like, I would never be able to do this.
24:38It's okay. We're going to get there together, okay? It's going to look lovely.
24:42So, so proud of Han, and I love her dearly, and I think she's one of a kind,
24:48and there's nothing you can't do, and you continue to amaze me every day.
24:55Dan, you make me cry. Oh, gosh, don't cry.
24:59Enough of that.
25:01Love you, too. I'm very proud of you.
25:04Yeah, we got this together.
25:06Nine percent.
25:10Darren, it's Robbie from The Block.
25:12House Five's Robbie is calling Beaumont Tiles for reassurance that the South Honsie boys have
25:17selected the right coloured tiles in their bathroom.
25:20I feel like the floor and the wall tiles are pretty similar in colour.
25:25Or is it going to look different when it's on the floor because it's flat? Is that...?
25:28You'll have a vanity over it. You'll have barbed toilets.
25:32Then really your eye is taking yes to the floor, but more to your feature tile on your wall.
25:37Okay, so the feature tile is a little bit darker. Is that what you're thinking?
25:41That's what you're trying to say? Yeah.
25:43That's what I'm trying to say, and I think it's going to look stunning.
25:45I spoke to Darren from Beaumont, and he's reassured that we have made the right decision
25:49with our original choices.
25:50I think you'll be absolutely blown away once it's done.
25:53Okay, all right.
25:53Now, that's a reassurance I needed, Darren. Thanks, mate.
25:56I appreciate your honesty, and I'm standing right next to Matt now.
26:01Darren's pretty positive about what you chose as the right decision.
26:05Yeah.
26:05Beaumont Tiles are professionals, and Matt went down there with a really good mood board,
26:11and we need to stick to it, so we need to back out his original decision.
26:14Thank you, Darren. Cheers, mate.
26:15I appreciate you.
26:16Thanks, mate.
26:17I'll speak to you soon.
26:17That's all right.
26:18Bye, mate. Bye.
26:22Do you know what I f***ing hate?
26:24I'm like, f***ing indecisive brainer.
26:25Well, just be...
26:26I can convince myself I'm a f***ing meerkat.
26:31Off-site, Taz is still trying to dig up his fully matured, bargain-by lemon tree.
26:38I just knew if I didn't get that lemon tree, I'd be sour.
26:42It's a bit harder than I thought it was going to be.
26:52My shovel didn't like the flex I was giving it.
26:55That's why we bring two shovels to a job site.
26:57It's too tough for the shovel.
27:00I had to dig out that lemon tree pretty quick because a bit of a time squeeze.
27:04Oh, jeez.
27:08When life is...
27:10Please stop.
27:14It's out.
27:16Is that going to clear?
27:16What can I do?
27:30I think I've hurt myself on a lemonade.
27:38With the second coat of waterproofing now on in all five houses, it's time for inspections.
27:43And first up is Victorians Emma and Ben in house one.
27:48Is it dry, mate?
27:50Dan.
27:50Yes, I hope so.
27:52It's up to Foreman Dan and Site Supervisor GMAC to give the blockheads the approval to begin tiling.
27:58When GMAC walks in, you're just standing there with bad breath.
28:02We're anxious to pass waterproof inspection.
28:05There's a few bubbles up top here.
28:08Another one there, there, there.
28:10So, Benny, you see all these big blobs everywhere?
28:13Yeah, yeah.
28:14Big blobs up here.
28:16Something like this, the trail will come across and it'll pull the membrane.
28:21Things like this need to be addressed.
28:23It's got to have two coats on it, mate, and it's got to adhere to it.
28:26Has it not been primed?
28:27No.
28:28So your water stop, they haven't primed it with something?
28:30See how that just scratched?
28:31Yep, I can't have that happen.
28:32Yep, cool.
28:34Well, not cool.
28:35I got knocked back.
28:36The waterproofer has to, you know, re-prime the water stop and then put waterproof over it.
28:44It's peeling off.
28:45We're pretty stressed because it's a pretty long process and so to finish it.
28:48I know, and then to book in another inspection is going to take a long time.
28:52Yeah, it's a massive delay.
28:53Thanks, bud.
28:54Thanks, Dan.
28:56What the hell is that?
28:58It's had a hemorrhage.
28:59Wow.
29:00Negative.
29:00You're not getting past.
29:01We fail.
29:02If that doesn't improve, it's going to have to be cut out and redone.
29:05Disaster.
29:08Ah!
29:09Ow!
29:10My wife's now my favourite tool.
29:27Here we are, on the block, doing a bathroom in the first week.
29:30And off we go.
29:31Yeah, here we go.
29:31I've worked on tons of bathrooms in my time, but I've never been under such time constraints.
29:39You know, like to do it in a week is, it's just relentless.
29:43Please, can you just get out?
29:44You're making me nervous.
29:47Get out.
29:47It's okay.
29:48No, get out.
29:49Yeah, I'm a plumber, mate.
29:50I'm confident we'll pass.
29:52If you look at it, it's neat as he's done the job of taking photos on the gauge of everything.
29:56I've got all them in my phone.
29:58Everything's sealed up.
29:59Everything's good.
30:00I'm pretty certain I'll be fine.
30:02Eventually, we've got Dan down there.
30:04And also, GMAT comes around.
30:07Right?
30:08It's a little bit spongy here.
30:09Why isn't that waterproof?
30:11Which?
30:12The angle.
30:13The angle?
30:14Yeah.
30:14Up and over the top.
30:16It's in the drawing.
30:17No, it's not waterproof in the back.
30:20Negative.
30:20You're not getting past.
30:21We failed.
30:22When you sit there as a tradesman, you know, because you watch it at home, you're like,
30:25they must have getting away with something.
30:27But when you hear, I'm not getting away with anything.
30:30Well, you don't get away with anything.
30:32Yeah, you know, they're right onto it.
30:34So, and you get that, that's good.
30:37But sometimes you're like, just wish you were blind, GMAT.
30:42Is he still here, your waterproofer?
30:44Nah, I'm just coming, painting that angle.
30:46Can I do that or I have to wait for him to come do that?
30:49He's signing off on it.
30:50Yeah.
30:55Hey, boys.
30:58Hi.
30:59Do you reckon I can steal one of your waterproofers for 10 minutes?
31:02Do you want to buy one of yours?
31:03I can steal one of yours?
31:04Yeah, yeah.
31:04Yeah?
31:05Is that all right?
31:05He said he's happy to provide a certificate if your boys can paint it.
31:08Yeah.
31:08Yeah.
31:09Sweet.
31:10Yeah, thanks.
31:11Cheers, boys.
31:12It was really just a touch-up, but that way, when my toilet gets here, he doesn't have to do it.
31:17We don't have to wait for it to dry, so in that way, it just keeps us moving forward.
31:20Yeah, it's all happy families in week one.
31:23It is for now.
31:24Yeah, but see, it's all happy families until someone gets .
31:29Who gets first, we'll see.
31:34Lucy the lemon tree.
31:43Named it already.
31:44She is nice.
31:46Hello.
31:47Lucy the lemon tree.
31:49Oh, she's beautiful.
31:51Two and a half metres tall.
31:52I like it.
31:53Pretty nice, eh?
31:59Good job, Taz.
32:00The lemon tree that you've bought is a secret.
32:04Hush, hush.
32:05I thought I'd hide her in plain sight.
32:07So if you look over my right shoulder, you'll see a two and a half to three metre tall lemon
32:15tree.
32:15No one else knows about this at the moment.
32:17Alicia is using it for shade right now.
32:19Is she really?
32:21I'm all about helping out other teams, you know what I mean?
32:23In any way I can, just helping them out, so.
32:27Yeah, so I don't think she's got an idea.
32:30Yep, Taz is a master of keeping things on the down low.
32:34Oh, wow.
32:34See the garage door to the right?
32:35Yeah, yeah.
32:36Garage door.
32:36Nice.
32:36Three metres up.
32:38Very nice, mate.
32:39No one will even know what it is.
32:41So the secret got out pretty quickly.
32:42Yeah.
32:43Is this your tree?
32:43What tree?
32:44This one.
32:45Is that a marketplace find?
32:46It might have been a marketplace find, yeah.
32:48You're not telling me, are you?
32:49No, I will.
32:50Marketplace.
32:51Oh, really?
32:52It's done me well.
32:52Looks nice.
32:53And now everyone's talking about a lemon tree.
32:55Talking about our Lucy.
32:57But, they don't know about the seven others that we're going to buy as well.
33:00That one's secret.
33:01Shh.
33:01It's the driest I've ever dried a bathroom before, mate.
33:17Really?
33:18Which is my first.
33:18Sorry.
33:19OK, I will bid the judge.
33:20Yep.
33:21G Flip.
33:22Mac G, G Daddy.
33:25He terrifies me.
33:26I'm so scared of him.
33:28When G Flip comes, I go,
33:33like the Wicked Witch of the West.
33:34Gee, it is dry.
33:48Wow.
33:50Robbie.
33:51He's done a good job, mate.
33:52He's done a very good job.
33:54Good.
33:55All right.
33:55He's looking happy.
33:59Complete.
34:01Oh, yes.
34:02Thank you, G.
34:04In one inspection.
34:06Great success.
34:08So, Thursday, we were the first team on the block in 2025 to waterproof,
34:12and we were the first team to tile.
34:14Dark horse, baby.
34:16Nay, nay.
34:16Nay, nay.
34:18The O'Brien guys are putting the leading in the floor as we speak,
34:22and then Tyler's going to be in the shower.
34:24We've actually got a bit of time to kill,
34:26so Matt and I are going to take advantage of that, hit the road.
34:29We're going to go into Daylesford and check out the local shops,
34:32and see if we can find anything nice to decorate.
34:34We'll head back to a small town, homebound, back to what I know.
34:39Here we are, going for a nice country drive.
34:44Do you know in Adelaide you can marry your dad?
34:45Well, have you inquired?
34:50I know Steve's a good man, but like...
34:51I'm kidding.
34:52Back to a big sky, little lo-fi, that's where I'll go.
34:57Back to a small town, small town, small town, yeah.
35:02Such a cute little town, isn't it?
35:03Mm-hmm.
35:04We went down the main street of Daylesford,
35:06and we popped into a couple of local shops there.
35:08Oh, D-Town.
35:11Oh, mate, I'm the number one fan of D-Town.
35:14I'm the mayor.
35:15D-Town.
35:16I'll play the street like...
35:18The bakery.
35:19They claim to have the best vanilla slice in Victoria.
35:24I'm going to cut this in half, because I've seen the way you eat.
35:26Oh, my God.
35:27Mmm.
35:28Street like...
35:32Nothing vanilla around here.
35:33We're driving around to get a few little knick-knacks for styling,
35:37just some ideas.
35:38And, you know, I've got that superpower of being gay,
35:41so I know how to style things.
35:42Oh, this is nice.
35:43Well, these look great.
35:46Can you buy these soap dishes here as well?
35:49Rob, look at this.
35:50I'm looking at him.
35:51I've realised very quickly, I'm never taking him with me
35:55on a shopping thing ever again.
35:57It's painful, because we look at stuff and he's like,
35:59oh, yeah, nah, oh, yeah, nah.
36:01It's painful.
36:02Anyway...
36:03It's fun, though.
36:03So then we...
36:04It wasn't fun.
36:05I think those soap dishes, those colours are great.
36:08Didn't like the colour.
36:09What colours were there?
36:11The...
36:11You picked up a grey one.
36:14They weren't grey, weren't they?
36:15No.
36:16To be honest, I'm not going to lie.
36:17Yes.
36:17I wasn't paying attention.
36:18Are you kidding?
36:20Why?
36:20I was just looking at things.
36:22Well, then, Dad, go shopping with me.
36:23This is why I do the shopping,
36:25and then just deal with the complaining when I get home.
36:32I don't know.
36:35Welcome back to the vlog.
36:37That's so good.
36:38Now, problem matter.
36:42At the beginning of the week, you didn't have a build-up.
36:45You're trailing behind the pack right now.
36:49You have overtaken the leaders with no experience whatsoever.
36:55And have a look at you.
36:59Doing not too bad.
37:00But have you managed your Combank budget?
37:04That doesn't even sound like me.
37:07Meanwhile, back at the block.
37:09That's my line.
37:11Meanwhile, back at the block.
37:13Hello.
37:13Hello.
37:14Good to see you.
37:15How are you doing?
37:15What's happening?
37:16Yeah, we're ready for waterproof inspection, please.
37:18Really?
37:19Yep.
37:20You're going to strive?
37:21I reckon you're going to like it.
37:22We had a few hiccups this morning.
37:24One of them was my bad.
37:26My ears are glued on, I think, sometimes.
37:28Okay, well, that's dry there.
37:31But it's more the internal corners that we've got to really check.
37:35It was quite stressful.
37:36I'm just really keen to get in and just get things done.
37:41We are very shocked that this has tried.
37:45That's what happens when you apply it with love.
37:50Just press the green one at the bottom.
37:55There you go.
37:55Thanks, mate.
37:56Got waterproofing approved.
37:58I'm stoked.
37:59So we're good to go.
38:01After the hell of a day that it was, we're back on track.
38:05Tim's laying out the tiles, start cutting.
38:08And we've got floor-to-ceiling tiles.
38:10So it's a big mission to get this complete.
38:12But, yeah, feeling good.
38:13Yeah, feeling good.
38:15Things are in motion.
38:17So, Jake, who have we passed?
38:18House five and house two.
38:19Yep, in that order.
38:21And that's it.
38:22But with the new building rules this year,
38:24and only two hours left before the site closes for the night,
38:28everyone wants to get their waterproof inspected and passed now.
38:31So did you come for an inspection?
38:33Yes, please.
38:34I think you want an inspection.
38:35Yes, please.
38:36So they're all coming again.
38:37Thanks, Dan.
38:37Here we go.
38:38Are you doing an inspection?
38:39Yeah.
38:40Can we go to ours after, Dan?
38:42Okay.
38:43GMAT, they're all coming.
38:47That corner, it's just a little bit ugly.
38:49It's dry.
38:50Yeah, it's a little bit dry, a little bit wet.
38:53It's just not quite dry in a couple of spots.
38:55So they said our tilers can start tiling,
38:57but they are not to tile over those areas until it's dry.
39:00I don't want you to go anywhere near here.
39:02Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
39:03Nah, that's right.
39:04If that doesn't improve, it's going to have to be cut out and redone.
39:08Disaster.
39:09Disaster?
39:09That will be a disaster.
39:10We're ripping up waterproofing.
39:12I know that's not good.
39:14I know that much.
39:15No, you don't want that.
39:16So we've been given permission to tile,
39:18but we've not been fully ticked off for waterproofing,
39:21and it's just frustrating.
39:22Waterproofing Wednesday sucks.
39:25No, this is Thursday.
39:25Sucks.
39:26Or on Thursday.
39:27Waterproofing sucks.
39:31Are we good or not?
39:32Yeah.
39:32Is it dry?
39:33Yeah, it's dry.
39:34Yeah, you've done that.
39:35Yeah.
39:36And you've gone into there.
39:37Yeah.
39:37Yeah.
39:38That's a worry.
39:40The rest was all right though, wasn't it?
39:41The rest was good.
39:42I got provisional parts of waterproof,
39:44so I could lay to my first shower stock,
39:46because there was no problem back from there.
39:49So we're not penalising you for the whole bathroom over one little section, right?
39:53Yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:53Because the rest is fine, and it meets all our requirements.
39:56We're happy with the product we're going to put out.
39:58We just got to get it over the finish line, you know?
40:00We're not there yet.
40:01There's still a lot of moving parts between now and Sunday.
40:05All right, so GWF's 99% approved house four.
40:09Yeah.
40:09House five's fully approved.
40:10Yes.
40:11House three, partially approved.
40:13Same number.
40:13House two, fully approved.
40:15Yes.
40:15House one, we haven't done it yet.
40:17Fine, we better go to one.
40:18All right, let's go.
40:19We are a lot behind everyone else, and when GMAC walks in,
40:24you're just standing there with bad breath.
40:27Yeah, to flatten that out.
40:28Yep.
40:29That gets cut.
40:29Yeah, good.
40:31That one's not so much.
40:32It needs to dry.
40:33We're anxious to pass waterproof inspection.
40:36What the hell is that?
40:38It's had a hemorrhage.
40:39Wow.
40:40It's not finished.
40:41Looks like I'm doing another partial pass.
40:44Yep.
40:44Okay, which means you'll be allowed to tile past this point,
40:47which means that by the end of closing business
40:49before I leave at 6 o'clock tonight, it needs to be dry.
40:52GMAC doesn't give you too much.
40:53No.
40:54And I thought we were going to get like a glitter bomb or something.
40:56I was wet.
40:59Can you imagine that?
41:01GMAC just like flashes of glitter bomb and he's like...
41:07That's good and bad news.
41:09Yep.
41:10But you're not the only one in the boat.
41:11Okay.
41:11There's other ones like that.
41:13Yeah.
41:13Okay.
41:13So at least you can start the shower, floor, walls.
41:16With all our blockheads finally moving forward,
41:18with underfloor heating and tiling in their bathrooms,
41:21let's check back in with these two clowns
41:24who are focusing on styling.
41:25Right.
41:26What's a barber and a hairdresser doing
41:30finishing their waterproofing before everyone else?
41:32Let me just say, you have made it a cut above the rest.
41:38Are you really proud of yourself?
41:40I underestimated you.
41:41And if you step over to my office, I'll cook you a snack
41:46and give you $10,000.
41:49I think you might have the best voice on TV.
41:52If you fly the map, you're at 2.9 kilometres.
41:55Then you'll find yourself at Linen House.
41:57The window's up, Rob,
41:59because you don't want people to be stealing the car in Kiten.
42:02Let's go, shall we?
42:07So we've just rocked up to Linen House in Kiten.
42:10Towels.
42:11Towels.
42:12Matt's going to go do his thing,
42:14and I'm just kind of browsing the shop and touching things, you know?
42:17Potentially looking for a few little knick-knacks to go around,
42:22but definitely some towels and maybe a robe or something like that.
42:25Is there anything in, like, more this sort of...
42:30I can't take him anywhere.
42:32It's like a gay in a china shop.
42:34We had the best time at Linen House.
42:35Jess was an absolute legend.
42:37I like this.
42:38What are you going to do with that in bathroom week?
42:40Just drawing things on.
42:41I'm thinking we get some sage green.
42:44I like the darker green as well.
42:46If you can hold these...
42:47Sure.
42:50Maybe some of these.
42:51Don't worry.
42:52And actually...
42:56Oh, that is nice.
42:57Thank you so much, Jess.
42:59No worries, that's okay.
42:59You're amazing.
43:00Matt has just gone a little bit crazy.
43:03It's not crazy, it's standard.
43:04Styling could make or break the room,
43:07and so because our room is a very neutral palette,
43:10we're using things like plants and linens and local produce
43:14to really bring our space to life.
43:16Meanwhile, back at the block.
43:19Quarter to five on Thursday, bathroom week,
43:22and everyone has started tiling.
43:25I clearly have to say house two and house five are in the best positions.
43:28They should finish tiling by tomorrow.
43:30In saying that, house two only has one tiler,
43:33and the girls want floor-to-ceiling tiles everywhere.
43:36That's a lot to ask for one tiler.
43:38Whereas house five, they've got a couple of tilers in there,
43:41and they're not tiling everything.
43:42So probably house five are going to be more likely to finish before anyone else.
43:46The boys are now back at house five to see the good progress
43:49the tilers have made in their bathroom.
43:52Our tiler, his name is Tyler.
43:54T-Y-L-U-H, Tyler.
43:57He's not, his name's Dean.
44:00Hey, hey.
44:01Hey, hey.
44:02Wow, that looked great, man.
44:03That looked cool, didn't it?
44:04It's good math.
44:05Yeah, we definitely made the right decision on the floor.
44:07Yeah.
44:07Looks great, guys. Keep it up.
44:09We heard some whispers down the street that, um...
44:11It's a block scandal, but keep going.
44:13It's a bit of a throw in the dark,
44:14but someone was waterproofing who's not a waterproofer.
44:18There's been somebody cutting corners.
44:21It's a big no-no.
44:23So what are you hoping to achieve tomorrow?
44:24Oh, look.
44:25Look what the cat dragged in.
44:27Hey.
44:28How are you?
44:28Good.
44:29He's all right.
44:30We're great.
44:31Isn't that nice?
44:32Even after having a tough day herself,
44:34Han is still checking up on her fellow blockheads.
44:38And welcome to House Five.
44:39This is the first time you've been here.
44:40I haven't left House Two.
44:43I was like, last night, I was like,
44:45oh, that insulation looks kind of comfy.
44:46I'm just...
44:47You're a liar.
44:49I really appreciate that.
44:50That's lovely.
44:51So...
44:51Thanks, mate.
44:52Are you okay, though?
44:52Yeah, yeah, yeah.
44:53Absolutely.
44:55All right.
44:55I'll see you in a bit.
44:57Just a little observation.
45:01Blue.
45:02Do you see her hand?
45:03They were all blue.
45:04Sorry, who just came and what did you notice?
45:06Han.
45:07Hand just came.
45:08What?
45:08But nothing.
45:10I saw something on her hands,
45:11but I'm just going to let whatever it was on her hands,
45:13even if it was, you know, waterproofing solution,
45:16I'll just let it go.
45:17I won't even look at it or notice it.
45:18Children, like, but her hands would be watertight.
45:22Watertight.
45:23You know, even if she washed her hands,
45:25it'd be like water off her bathroom floor.
45:27As the last work hours on site draw near,
45:40all teams have begun tiling in at least some part of their bathrooms.
45:44It looks sick.
45:45It looks so good.
45:46Even Victorians Emma and Ben in house one have managed to catch up and are making good progress.
45:52We've got the underfloor heating going down and quick mapping out the tiles.
45:57And Mitch is cutting them off.
46:00I think it's going to look great.
46:02While the teams and their trades are putting pedal to the metal on site,
46:06offsite my old mate Shelley is also leaving the dust in her wake in an MG cyberster.
46:12The usual day for a drive on the touch.
46:30Oh, hello.
46:37Look at this giant Jesus.
46:39There he is.
46:41Make me smile.
46:42Hello.
46:43Watch this.
46:46That is a nice looking MG.
46:47Oh my God.
46:48Wow.
46:50Hey Frankie.
46:51Hi.
46:52How are you?
46:52I'm really good.
46:53It's all a bit much, isn't it?
46:55Hi sweetheart.
46:56Nice to see you too.
46:57Come in here.
46:58I've got so much to show you.
46:59Holy moly.
47:01This is a town within a town.
47:03We've got a Bunnings Warehouse.
47:05We've got a Bunnings Nursery.
47:07We've got a full chemist warehouse.
47:08Holy man.
47:09I love it.
47:10We've got a block shop opening on Monday.
47:11No way.
47:12And we've got them a cafe.
47:13A real cafe cafe.
47:14It's like a main strength.
47:15This is so cool.
47:16Yes.
47:16Like a modern western town, but this is full western.
47:19Yeah, yeah.
47:20It's fantastic.
47:20Have a look at behind you.
47:22House one, two, three, four, five.
47:25Sort of half an acre each, a bit over.
47:27So you've given them a village.
47:28Yes.
47:29You've given them brand new builds.
47:30They're already ready to go with roofs on.
47:33Yes.
47:34You're making this too easy.
47:35I know, I know.
47:36Well, it is too easy, I reckon.
47:37It's too easy.
47:37They're huge homes.
47:39A lot of landscaping, obviously, with almost half an acre.
47:41Huge backyards, about 2,000 square metres.
47:44So if they're doing bathrooms this week, do they move in at all?
47:47No, sure.
47:48Wait till you see what I've built.
47:50I've built a little village.
47:51Come on, I'll show you.
47:52Frankie, this is exciting.
47:54Yes.
47:54What about his car?
47:55I know, I'm very excited.
47:56I think I'm just going to leave it like that.
47:58I don't want to push any more buttons, but it's fast.
48:00One to 100 in 3.2.
48:02Is it?
48:02So I got here in no time.
48:05Look at that.
48:06So they get to sleep in caravans the whole time.
48:09Yes, I know, and the middle one's mine.
48:11I'll be in my trailer.
48:12I'll be in my trailer.
48:14Oh, they're going to have the best time.
48:16If they don't have the best time, what else can you do?
48:18And she'll have divided the site.
48:20Do you know about this?
48:20No.
48:21See the black fence?
48:22It runs around.
48:23So this is one side, and that's the other side.
48:25They lock the gates when it's finished.
48:27So they get kicked out at night?
48:28They get kicked out at a certain time,
48:29and it changes each day as they get closer to Sunday.
48:31Oh, that's fantastic.
48:33This is great.
48:33How civilised.
48:34We were actually over with the boys at the camp,
48:37and in comes the beautiful Shelley Craft with Scotty.
48:40Freepin!
48:41Hello, hello!
48:43How are you doing?
48:44Hi, I'm Shelley.
48:45I'm Leesh.
48:45Hi.
48:46Nice to meet you.
48:47Lovely to meet you.
48:47I was so excited.
48:48I actually think I stood there, Lees.
48:50Stun-mullet again.
48:51Yeah.
48:52Yeah.
48:52From what I've seen so far, this is the best block ever, Scotty.
48:55Yeah, it's fantastic.
48:57The titanium caravans are very flashing silent.
49:01It's magnificent.
49:01Hello.
49:02Oh, meet my friend Shelley Craft.
49:05Can I give you a cuddle?
49:06How are you, Ted?
49:07How the hell are you, mate?
49:09Todd's got a crush on Shelley.
49:10I love Shelley.
49:11It's going to be a great series.
49:13Welcome.
49:14It's a touring series, but it'll be a great series, I reckon.
49:16Yeah, it's good fun.
49:16Give yourself a wrap, Taz.
49:19Shell, here's some more.
49:20Shelley Craft.
49:21Oh, good day.
49:21Hello.
49:22Hey, Shelley.
49:23How are you?
49:23How are you?
49:24Bring it in.
49:24Hi.
49:25Oh, ladies.
49:26Meet my friend Shelley Craft.
49:28Hey, Shelley.
49:29Nice to meet you.
49:30Lovely to see you.
49:31Lovely to meet you.
49:32I wouldn't opt for the hug.
49:33I really want to hug you all, but...
49:34I stink too.
49:34Are you sure?
49:35Yeah, I'm really stinky.
49:36Oh, no.
49:36No clothes, Laurie.
49:38No clothes, Laurie.
49:39Hi, I'm home.
49:40You didn't smell that bad.
49:41You didn't smell that bad.
49:42Oh, my goodness.
49:43Did anyone get a photo of that?
49:45Shelley Craft just sniffed my armpit.
49:47Come and sit down.
49:48Oh, that's a one for the record books.
49:50And you've had the Barbies going?
49:51Absolutely.
49:52We had a Barbie two nights ago.
49:53We had a Barbie the other day for us.
49:54I burned all the snacks just the way I like them.
49:56Did you?
49:56Just the way you like them?
49:57Yeah.
49:57I'm going one better tonight.
49:58I thought we might pop in with Farmer's Arms for dinner
50:00if everyone's up for us.
50:02Yes.
50:03I love it when you shout, Shelley.
50:05Go past the Barbie.
50:07Yeah, we went across the road to Farmer's Arms,
50:09which is an absolutely gorgeous little pub
50:12and restaurant establishment in Daylesford.
50:16It's a booking under Shelley, Scotty, just so you know.
50:19Today was a good one, wasn't it?
50:20Because there's nothing you could really do
50:22but help your trades.
50:24I got shut down.
50:25Oh, you were waterproofing, weren't you?
50:26I was so focused, I didn't hear properly
50:29that I couldn't do it without him there by my side.
50:32Lesson learnt, yeah.
50:33I heard a lesson learnt.
50:34I was like, ooh, what is this lesson?
50:36She's rocked up to dinner blue-handed.
50:38She can't not tell everyone that she has been told
50:42that she was untrustworthy by Dan the foreman.
50:45I started waterproofing without my Tyler on site
50:48and Dan did tell me that but I didn't hear it correctly
50:52because I was too, like, there was a lot going on.
50:54So he shut me down and then he said he lost trust in me
50:56and then I cried.
50:57And now I'm getting emotional now because, like,
50:59if you turn my fans off and, yeah, I think it's just like...
51:02He's thinking of you, you know, like, he's getting upset
51:05because he doesn't want you to fail.
51:07Yeah, I know, I know.
51:08I just want to do everything right.
51:10And so it was my bad for not listening properly.
51:13But we've, yeah, we had a good chat and, like,
51:15trust is a huge thing, especially in this, like...
51:18And it's the biggest thing in week one, isn't it?
51:20It's finding your team.
51:22Yes, that's right.
51:23As you know, we always want you to do well
51:25and so there's always advice that we can give you.
51:27And you've got to have all your planets aligned come auction time
51:31and that is a great real estate agent, a great auctioneer.
51:34You have to have a great design and a great house
51:36and you have to create an emotional connection for the buyer
51:38because if they don't like it, they just go next door.
51:41Don't go for the trends and the fads and whatever it is.
51:45Build a house that you really want to live in.
51:48And you're trying a pair of jeans more times
51:50than you'll actually look around a house you want to buy.
51:51Like, seriously, you walk into a house and you go,
51:53yep, this is the one.
51:54Or it's not, I'm moving next door.
51:55And I don't know why this is the one, but this is the one.
51:58It feels good.
51:59And that's what you've got to try and achieve.
52:01At this stage, you know, it's been like a little family.
52:05I'm glad that it feels good.
52:06I'm just worried I'll be sitting at the end of the table
52:08from Leash by the end of week 12.
52:12That'll be the biggest shock of the season.
52:13Alrighty, what's up boys?
52:15I feel like we're in it together and it's really,
52:17I don't know, supportive and collaborative.
52:19It's a family.
52:20I think everyone's had a really tough couple of days,
52:23so I think it's really nice to come together
52:24and have a nice little surprise and treat tonight.
52:27Isn't it absolutely fantastic that we have the farmer's arms
52:32in Dalesford right across the road from us
52:35and it serves magnificent food.
52:37Very fortuitous.
52:38This is the reason for the site, right?
52:40Yeah, yeah.
52:40That's why we're here.
52:41We actually put the site near the pub.
52:43Yeah, I like it.
52:44I think this is going to be a really nice series.
52:47At this stage, we are a family.
52:49But wait till week eight, then see who's friends.
52:53Enjoy your dinner.
52:54Yeah.
52:55Because if we go to the restaurant, we'll do it.
52:56Yeah.
52:57Yeah.
53:01Tomorrow night.
53:02Handy hand is on the tools as well.
53:05I am.
53:06She's got her pads on.
53:07So look at you go.
53:08Everything on Friday afternoon is going great.
53:11Then Aidan walks in.
53:12I start popping tiles off the wall.
53:15Take all the tiles off.
53:17Every tile.
53:19On a Friday night.
53:20All the tilers, myself, just sat in a bathroom, fully tiled, ready for grout.
53:27If it makes you feel any better, I'm about to go do it with someone else.
53:29I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
