00:00Meanwhile, Ortiga Station is set to serve 96,000 commuters daily once operational, with full completion expected by 2030 to 2031.
00:08Transport Secretary Vince Dizon vows to meet President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr.'s challenge to begin partial operations from Valenzuela to Canino by 2028.
00:18Our Bernard Ferrer tells us more.
00:19An estimated 96,000 passengers per day are expected to be served by the Ortiga Station of the Metro Manila subway project once it becomes operational.
00:32It is considered one of the largest among the 17 stations under the said project.
00:36The Ortiga Station will be located in the Ortiga Central Business District, a major commercial hub in Metro Manila.
00:42Earlier today, Department of Transportation, or DOTR Secretary Vince Dizon, inspected the construction site Alomaralco Avenue in Pasig City.
00:51He was joined by Pasig City Mayor Vico Soto, representatives from the private contractor, and other government officials.
00:57Everyone is here to work together to make this finally happen.
01:01Three years ng delayed.
01:03What was the problem?
01:04Right of way, maraming conflicts sa lupa, sa ownership, at saka yung mga nag-release ng lupa.
01:12The Office of the Solicitor General has already filed the expropriation case for the station site.
01:18However, due to a clerical error, a refiling expected to take place in court next week.
01:23The Pasig City Governor assured its full support to the national government's project.
01:27Kami sa LGU, ginagawa namin ng lahat ng pwede namin gawin para makatulong.
01:34Kung may delay man, at least hindi sa amin yung delay.
01:37Kung ano yung pwede namin gawin.
01:39And even yung sa right-of-way issues, din yung subukan namin namin tumulong.
01:44Construction is expected to begin within one to two weeks.
01:47Meanwhile, the DOTR is targeting the Tunnel Boring Machine, or TBM, to reach Ortega Station before the end of 2026.
01:54Currently, the TBM is in white place, advancing at a rate of five to seven meters per day.
01:59Ortega Station is expected to be completed by 2030 or 2031.
02:04Secretary Dyson accepted the challenge of President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. to commence partial operations of the Metro Manila Subway Project by 2028.
02:12Hopefully, by 2028, makapagpatakbo tayo sa Bagensuega, Quirino, and we will try our best up to North Avenue.
02:21Pinapaspasan natin yung right-of-way acquisition.
02:23And yun ang, thankfully, with the help of our LGU partners and other government agencies like OSG, we are about to resolve all of them in the next few weeks.
02:34In total, the Metro Manila Subway Project will have 17 stations, including the 30.34-hectare depot and Valenzuela City, which will also house the Philbin Railway Institute.
02:44The 17 stations are as follows, Valenzuela, Quirino Highway, Tandang Sora, North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, East Avenue, Anuanas, Catipunan, Ortigas Avenue, Shope Boulevard, Calayaan Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Loughton East, Senate DepEd, Naya Terminal 3, FTI, and Bikutan.
03:04The project covers a 33-kilometer railway line connecting Valenzuela City to Pase City with a direct link to the A-Terminal 3.
03:12It will also be integrated with other railway systems such as LRT1, MRT3, and MRT7 via the Common Station.
03:20It will also be integrated with other railway systems such as LRT1, MRT3, and MRT7 via the Common Station, LRT2 at Anola Station, and the North-South Community Railway Extension at FTI and Bikutan stations.
03:32As of now, the Metro Manila subway project is already 28% complete.
