00:00:38He's called out the Barbarian.
00:00:40The Barbarian is called out by Jimmy Hart.
00:00:43I'm sure to try to get Ming to pull off.
00:00:45He will not pull off.
00:00:48Ming finally gets away.
00:00:49He puts the tugging death grip on his partner.
00:00:53Well, he's snapped now.
00:00:55He don't know who's who in there.

00:02:06And then the shocker is that Jimmy Hart comes out with the Barbarians.
00:02:10This ought to be a big time physical matchup.
00:02:13Two of the most feared men that had made up this most feared team,
00:02:18Ming and the Barbarian, to go at it now here, nose to nose on Nitro.

00:02:55Here's a good chance they could be fighting each other for a couple weeks here.

00:02:59Yeah, they're so tough, it's so hard to hurt either man.
00:03:02And both men not giving an inch in the early seconds of this matchup.
00:03:06Ming just shoved the man, full of thrust.
00:03:09Back to the other neutral counter, and an offense chop sends him back to the counter again.

00:03:31Savage and Hogan are gonna work as a unit, and then afterwards they're gonna fight each other?

00:14:04And anytime Rick Rude is at ringside, that's gonna spell trouble.
00:14:08But for Curt Hennig, he's got quite a test here and a great veteran in Bobby Eaton.

00:14:25You know, I can understand Hollywood Hogan and Savage against Luger and Sting
00:14:31heading into Super Brawl with the intent maybe to injure Sting or injure Luger
00:14:36to help in their efforts coming up on Sunday night in San Francisco.
00:14:40But the fact that Hogan and Savage hate each other so much,
00:14:43I wonder if they have maybe, maybe backed themselves into a corner,
00:14:47got into something they can't get out of right now.
00:14:49Well, I think the NWO's original idea when this match was signed, Tony,
00:14:54was that long-term plan to injure them prior to Super Brawl.
00:14:58But then you remember Hogan called Savage out for the apology,
00:15:01get things settled, and both get on the same page.
00:15:04That didn't happen, but now they have to go through with the match tonight.
00:15:07Now, you know Hogan's not as dumb as I want to think he is.
00:15:13But did he really think Savage was going to apologize to him last week?
00:15:16Did he really think that would happen?
00:15:18No, I don't think that would happen.
00:15:19Out of the most dangerous man in wrestling?
00:15:21But sometimes I think his ego is so big that he feels that everyone
00:15:25in the NWO would just kneel to him.
00:15:27He really thinks that in his mind.

00:15:29It's baffling that a man could be that way, but that's Hollywood Hogan.
00:15:33Not only one of the greatest wrestlers the world's ever seen,
00:15:37but a man with an ego that is mind-boggling.
00:15:40Now to the back and a knife-hitch chop from Curt Hennig.
00:15:43Systematic wrestler, he can certainly take you apart.
00:15:47Facing Bobby Eaton, one of the most accomplished tag team wrestlers of all time.
00:15:52Well, I guess I was going to say it's a one-on-one match,
00:15:55but it looks like Roode is going to integrate himself into this situation.
00:15:58Well, don't forget, Hennig's taking his time here.
00:16:00He just flew 15 hours, so he's gonna pace himself.
00:16:03He's a veteran.
00:16:04He knows what to do in that ring.
00:16:06Knee lift to Roode, and Roode is gonna do the same thing twice.

00:16:12He has not hit Bobby Eaton or inserted himself in the match in any other form,

00:21:04But one of the issues about the Steiners has been the fact that Scott Steiner had been
00:21:09so preoccupied with his physique, with his biceps, as it relates to Buff Bagwell's biceps.
00:21:15And hey, I'm going to be honest with you.
00:21:17Buff Bagwell's got a great body, but there's no contest.
00:21:21This man has the biggest biceps in our sport.
00:21:24So he has really been worried more about that.
00:21:27But they finally came together.
00:21:29They finally put all their differences behind him.
00:21:31He had been a glory ham, but he's put it behind him to focus as a team.
00:21:35And you guys both know, Mike, and you haven't said anything for a few moments.

00:21:40You guys both know that when the Steiners are focused, they are the best tag team in our sport,
00:21:46bar none.
00:21:47Six times, Tony, they have held the WCW World Tag Team titles.
00:21:52And of course, you'd have to know that the NWO has some kind of strategy here.
00:21:56With the big tag matchup, the tag titles at stake tonight,
00:22:00as well as at Super Brawl with the outsiders in line for a title shot.

00:29:32A lot of wrestlers come from tag team competition and try to go up single-handedly,
00:29:38going alone.
00:29:39And what happens is that a lot of them are successful, but it takes them a long time,
00:29:43because they're used to having a partner.
00:29:45This man's come along the quickest I've ever seen.
00:29:47Plus, he's television champion.
00:29:49Well, the true greats have had success on both sides of the coin.
00:29:53I go back and I think about the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
00:29:55We always talk about Ric Flair, 13-time former World Heavyweight champ.
00:29:59But that does not really count the many times he was television champ,
00:30:03U.S. champ, and how many times was he a member of the World Tag Team Champions, was Ric Flair.
00:30:09So great wrestlers rise to the occasion on any type of wrestling match.
00:30:15I don't know what's going on here, but I can only assume that maybe because there's a lot of nodding
00:30:21and agreement going on that Booker T is telling Ric Martell, if you're not ready, I understand.
00:30:27Martell, though, gets a cheap shot before the bell.
00:30:30Never expected that.
00:30:31I always expect it.
00:30:33I'm glad to see it.
00:30:34That's what he had to do.
00:30:35He had to get the upper hand here.

00:30:47Well, and I agree with that, but we didn't expect it out of Ric Martell before the bell.
00:30:53And Martell, with that jaw, the bottom lip just out there with the termination,

00:31:01Booker T know where to go, runs him across the ring to the other turnbuckle.
00:31:05Well, the unexpected shortcut from Ric Martell has him in control.
00:31:09Do you believe that Ric Martell could come back from the way we saw him just a few minutes ago,
00:31:14here to be in the, well, he was in the driver's seat for the world's TV title.

00:31:21Well, I'll tell you, I do understand, and I do believe it, because like Tony said,
00:31:26this man went into strict training.
00:31:28He trained for months and months to get in the tip-top shape of his life, and that's who he's in right now.
00:31:33That's why you can see him wrestle twice in one night.

00:31:41Ric Martell is very uncharacteristic of him here to use these tactics,
00:31:46and now he's pointing towards Booker T. They have had some great battles,
00:31:49and Booker T, that look on his face, one of concentration, determination,
00:31:53and I think he was very perplexed as well, guys.
00:31:55Well, they had great battles in the past, but they were based on respect for each other.
00:31:59Remember that Ric Martell came out and saved Booker T on several occasions,
00:32:03keeping the world's TV title for Booker T, and as a result, they had these championship matches.
00:32:08No, no, no, no. He didn't save the title for Booker T.
00:32:11He saved the opportunity for himself to wrestle for the championship.
00:32:14That's what that man did. Open your eyes. Open your eyes, Tony.
00:32:18That was Tanae with that big mouth.
00:32:20I know, but you were saying before, I had my eyes shot.
00:32:22You were saying big mouth.
00:32:24Choke call. I'm not, would you shut up and get to the match.

00:32:51Gonna walk it away from Booker T, and Booker T sending Rick Martell's head
00:32:55to the safety rail on the far side.
00:32:56Well, Martell trying to slow down the pace of Booker T.

00:33:23You know there's gotta be butterflies in both camps.
00:33:26And I think especially with Hogan and Savage, and I think mostly for Hollywood Hogan.

00:50:12I want to go back to what we saw right before the break, and I tell you, it's quite a moment to see Ric Flair and Bret the Hitman heart shake hands for a number of reasons.
00:50:22Of course, most importantly, that they are two of the greatest athletes. They are two men that stand for tradition, but it was another show of unity for World Championship Wrestling.
00:50:33Let's not forget, it was less than a week ago. It was Thursday on Thunder, where the NWO at the behest of Eric Bischoff and Hollywood Hogan, their figureheads, declared war on WCW, as they said from A to Z.
00:50:48And as they slowly have been going down the A, B, and C's of their war, WCW has risen up together to fight back against the NWO.
00:50:58Well, that handshake has to be termed, I think, one of the great moments in Nitro history for World Championship Wrestling.
00:51:04Just the mere fact that Ric Flair and Bret Hart were able to put aside their differences to work for that United goal.
00:51:11And don't forget, right after this match, you're going to see exactly what happens with Hogan and Savage as tag partners,
00:51:19because you're also going to see them take on Lex Luger, the total package, and Sting.
