Transcript
00:00Yeah, so we're here at the Sandwell Aquatic Centre, and it's wonderful for us to be promoting Black Breast Matter campaign,
00:08which was all about encouraging black women to attend screening for breast cancer.
00:15And so we've combined swimming with health awareness, and Alf will tell you a little bit more about the swimming aspect.
00:22So we are also trained as NHS cancer champions, so a lot of the women today, we've had 75 referrals to come onto the programme,
00:33and it's about health, and a lot of people have come here with breast cancer, with diabetes, mental health,
00:42so we're combining everything in a fun way to get people moving.
00:46And according to Sports England, 95% of black adults cannot swim, and we've had 75 referrals, which is brilliant.
00:56So this is our pilot scheme, so we're working together to promote Reggae Aqua, which will be our new programme coming out.
