00:00Hello and welcome to the Wolverhampton Art Centre on the outskirts of the city
00:04centre. Within these fabled walls is a wonderful place full of beer and cider
00:09and gin and people drinking, music, food and much much else. It's the Wolverhampton
00:14Festival of Beer and Cider run by Wolverhampton Canberra for the 49th
00:18year. It's been going since yesterday, it's got one more day to go and let's go
00:23in and take a look.
00:26Welcome to Wolverhampton Beer Festival. I'm the Membership Secretary, welcome.
00:34I'm organising, I don't know if you're ready to go.
00:39I'm organising the British North Beer Festival.
00:42Well, let's get going. Okay, so tell me what it means for you to be able to come here and be part of this festival.
00:47It's already been an interest of quality ale. The sort of beers you get in the
00:54average football and I like something a bit more extreme and you don't see them on the high street.
01:00And Wolverhampton, it's like 49 years of the festival. So what is it about this festival to you that makes it appealing to people?
01:08Well, I lived in Wolves until 12 years ago, so I was sort of on local interest and I just quite like it. You know, nice people.
01:20It's got a nice atmosphere hasn't it? Yeah.
01:22And what have been the beers of choice for you so far?
01:26I've tried a few of the stouts. They've been my favourites so far.
01:30And what are you drinking at the moment?
01:32The last one on the list, Wiley Fox Prohibition.
01:36Did you get the chance to try the Banksy?
01:38No, unfortunately. It sold out yesterday.
01:42That says something that Banksy has been a supporter of this festival for years and it's sad that it's going but at least I've got to have one last hour here.
01:48Well, lovely. Thank you.
01:50Big business, isn't it? You know, it's... I don't know whether that's good or bad, I don't know.
01:56Well, obviously this festival is a big one for yourself and you're not following in the same footsteps at Bridge North, but does this inspire you with what you can do with that festival?
02:05Well, I'm organising, I'm blowing my own trumpet here, organising the Bridge North Beer Festival.
02:11So, in a way, I'm following on from here.
02:14As I say, I lived here 12 years ago.
02:16So I've taken what I know and a lot of other people with their knowledge to Bridge North.
