Okay, so Lucy, tell me what it means for you to be at the Midlands Fringe.
00:04
Well, I'm delighted to be at the Midlands Fringe. My mum was from the Midlands, she was a Coventry girl,
00:09
and Wolverhampton has a special place in my heart because I came here to see Potwell Eat Itself in, I think, about 1994,
00:17
and it was one of the best nights of my life, so it's good to be back.
00:20
So it's a city that's obviously got a big meaning to you then?
00:22
It has, well, it's an artistic hub, I've always thought, so it's lovely, yeah, it's just lovely to be part of an art scene in the Midlands.
00:30
And when you heard about the Fringe, what was your first reaction to it?
00:33
Yes, please, will there be biscuits? And it turns out there are biscuits, so it's got it all going on.
00:39
Comedy, performance, poetry, biscuits, I mean, you can't ask for more than that.
00:44
And from this show tonight, without giving too much away, what can people expect?
00:48
Well, it's called Let Yourself Go, and I intend to do just that, so I'm not saying there'll be nudity, but I'm not ruling it out.
00:57
And looking ahead, do you think that just this first weekend can inspire more people to put on events like this across the region?
01:04
Yeah, I mean, I think it's amazing to see a festival kind of in its nascent, if that's even a word.
01:11
It's just really exciting because I hope it will grow and grow,
01:13
and it's just so nice for people to get out and sort of have a laugh together, because we live in tough times.
01:20
And looking ahead, you're doing Edinburgh. How much are you looking forward to doing that?
01:24
I am raring to go, but I'm not going to do anything in Edinburgh that hasn't been approved by the people of Wolverhampton first,
01:30
so they're going to make or break the show tonight.
