The owners of a Stourbridge based pub and concert venue celebrated its 25th anniversary.  They held a party for friends, customers and musicians who have helped it become a staple of the town's entertainment scene.

00:35this week marks 25 years of katie fitzgerald's a real landmark of a famous place on the starbridge

00:43music scene how are you feeling tonight i know you've had a couple of drinks trina already but

00:50you deserve them

00:59come along that place it's it's lovely to see so many people yeah it really is yeah

01:06well yeah you've got guests old and new some new faces but plenty of uh people from the past 25

01:13years it's been how's it been the 25 years because you've become a landmark venue in starbridge for

01:19live music live entertainment gosh where do we start it's been very up and down i mean and i mean

01:28we've signed seen lots of different um waves of people you know young people who've worked for us

01:34who've come and gone and gone on to have have you know very different lives so it's been it's very

01:42interesting looking back over all that very interesting cheers and emotional and i mean

01:49recently or since the pandemic you reinvented the place if you like this is a beautiful venue now it

01:55always already was but you've you're calling it katie's secret garden yeah and it's basically an

02:02events venue isn't it comedy live entertainment obviously music um how's that been well personally

02:11i think it's a lot better because um we only open now when we have events and it's ticketed so you know

02:21how many people are coming and you can cater for those people just makes life easier really and

02:29everyone who comes is is there for that event so it just works out brilliant doesn't it it's good for

02:37us to change of lifestyle really but also it's placed more value on the music yeah and the art really

02:44so we've we've we've tried to emphasize you know that we need to value art and music and and that's

02:51what we do really but that also fits within our our lifestyle as we get a little bit older yeah

02:58the comedy nights have gone from strength to strength johnny cole he's touring nationally now

03:09um you've got the likes of dean friedman you've got a tribute to the wonder stuff coming up uh

03:14bev bevan's just been announced for later this year so some really big names you get down here really fabulous

03:21so i know sometimes i have to pinch myself it's just going to sell well but we love it it's it's great

03:29and people seem to really like it too don't they well certainly the comedians i mean we get a lot of

03:34comments from comedians saying you know this is the best just the best room to to perform

03:41and i think it's about the size and the feedback they get from the audience and the way we run things

03:46um but but in music as well that's i mean we've had miles from recently two sold out shows

03:53um as you said dean's coming in august again for the fourth time and he's incredible have you seen
