01:03Personal best, Sebastian Vettel says the best overall first sector.

01:06Bottas only 12th fastest ahead of Stroll and Magnusson,

01:10and, well, sadly we're for him within such a distance of that bottom five.

01:14So Vettel's going well, Stroll's going well, goes fourth fastest.

01:18That's the Aston Martin pace we've seen for much of this weekend.

01:22Ricciardo crosses the line, only 17th fastest for Daniel Ricciardo.

01:26He is out in Q1 for what is a third time this season,

01:31and that's massive disappointment for him as his teammate Lando Norris goes third fastest.

01:35Yuki Tsunoda goes second fastest as he crosses the line.

01:40Esteban Ocon only 12th fastest.

01:42Carlos Sainz might find himself in a bit of danger.

01:45Not a great first sector from Carlos Sainz either.

01:48Pierre Gasly next to across the line. Gasly goes 11th fastest,

01:51pushes Sainz a little bit further down.

01:54Sebastian Vettel has pitted at the end of the lap that he was on.

01:59What happened? Sebastian Vettel making his way then towards the stadium section.

02:04Oh dear. That, well, towards the final corner there.

02:09That is how you ruin what could have been a really impressive lap right at the last.

02:13And once it started drifting, he couldn't hold it.

02:16And that is the first part of qualifying over and done with.

02:19And Nicolas Latifi's slowest qualifying for the third time in the last four races.

02:23Vettel, Ricciardo, Magnus and Bottas also join him out.

02:29Leclerc powers his way at 140 miles an hour around the banking of the final corner.

02:34Down the straight, that's more like it for him and for Ferrari into the one minute tens.

02:39And six hundredths of a second slower than Max Verstappen who has stayed out, stayed in the garage I should say.

02:45Joe Guanyu goes tenth fastest. Alex Albon is out of qualifying as Lando Norris goes fourth fastest overall.

02:52He's not at risk. Joe Guanyu certainly is. Here's Mick Schumacher.

02:56Crosses the line, gets into Q3 for the time being.

03:00Joe Guanyu is out of Q3.

03:03Checker flag now flying as Carlos Sainz goes fastest overall by tenth of a second from Max Verstappen.

03:08Ferrari now showing Red Bull very much what they're made of here.

03:12And it's Verstappen and Sainz into Q3 as they have been at every race so far this season.

03:17Ocon tenth fastest. Alonso, his teammate, is on a flying lap.

03:22And at the moment he is in the bottom five.

03:24Yuki Tsunoda went very rapid at the end of Q1 and he's put himself into the top ten.

03:29Esteban Ocon is out of qualifying in that Alpine.

03:33Here comes Pierre Gasly and he's not made it. Qualified fourth last year, hasn't made it to Q3 this year.

03:40What about Fernando Alonso? Crosses the line, stays 13th.

03:43That is massive disappointment for Alpine for whom Ocon and Alonso both out.

03:49And the man who's tipped to replace Alonso and Alpine also out in Q2.

03:53Alex Albon was the slowest driver. Joe Guanyu also out as I mentioned.

03:57Fernando Alonso, Ocon, Pierre Gasly all out. Sainz the fastest.

04:02Verstappen crosses the line. There's your target for everyone to now aim at.

04:081-10-5. Max Verstappen, first car to cross the line in Q3.

04:14And let's see who can get closest or even try and beat it.

04:18Not his teammate on this occasion. Perez, half a second down.

04:21Hamilton's gone quickest through the middle sector.

04:24Crosses the line George Russell to go third fastest with a 1-11-1.

04:28He was on the used tyres, remember. New tyres for Hamilton as Leclerc goes fastest overall in the middle sector.

04:34Hamilton goes second fastest behind Verstappen.

04:37Less than a tenth of a second difference between the two cars.

04:42Or just over a tenth of a second I should say.

04:44But here's one to watch. Charles Leclerc has got a burst of pace and goes quickest.

04:50On onto provisional pole.

04:52Through the last corner, DRS opening. Look at his head's down.

04:55He's got his head down as low as he can go.

04:57Trying for every last thousandth of a second and it's worked. It's improved.

05:02A 1-10-3. That's what the rest are now chasing.

05:05Carlos Sainz had a very good first sector and a decent middle sector too.

05:09He's very much in touch. Max Verstappen aced the middle sector.

05:13It was on pole last year. His DRS wasn't working. He was still on pole.

05:16It's working now. Verstappen crosses the line.

05:19It's working enough to put Verstappen on pole and listen to that roar.

05:23But it's only provisional pole because there's others that can take it.

05:26Sainz won't. Nine hundredths of a second.

05:29Carlos Sainz is away from the pace and Sergio Perez has crashed at the final corner.

05:36And what a dramatic end to qualifying. Let's look what happened to Sergio Perez.

05:40Not the way you want to end qualifying, but yeah, he was trying to find that extra time.

05:45Ferrari starting on the front row at Zanvoort alongside the home hero Max Verstappen.

05:52A definite shout out for the Mercedes boys though.

05:54Lewis didn't get to finish his lap and I don't think George did either.

05:57His last sector was much slower, so I think he just got to the yellow flag.
