During a Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee hearing on Wednesday, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) criticized President Trump for ending an EPA investigation into GEO Group, a donor to his campaign that also previously employed Attorney General Pam Bondi as a lobbyist.

00:15particularly regarding the investigation into GEO,

00:18which on its face appears to be a service provided to a significant Trump donor

00:24that previously employed the Attorney General.

00:28So documents that explain how and why that decision was reached,

00:32emails between EPA and the White House and DOJ,

00:37I think are all relevant to dispelling what seems to be the most evident Occam's razor conclusion

00:46about what took place here, which is that a political favor was delivered to a significant campaign donor

00:52and former employer of the Attorney General.
