00:00Here's another cut from Tua Tonga-Vailoa today from Dolphins Training Camp.
00:05I haven't heard it. Some people have texted about it.
00:08I think this is probably a lighthearted clip more than anything.
00:12This is Tua talking about reading and listening to podcasts to kind of keep his mind right.
00:18So let's listen to this audio from earlier today.
00:22I watch a good amount of podcasts, listen to like a good amount of audio books as well.
00:26So I'm reading a book right now. So that's kind of like my process with like before I go to bed, kind of helps like with the dreaming aspect of it.
00:36You know, you kind of go to bed, you kind of think about it, think a little more about it.
00:40Sometimes you get aha moments, you know, as you as you're sleeping, you wake up and something hits you in that sense.
00:47But I would say that's that's what I do in terms of motivation.
00:51And then, you know, you can take little snippets of what certain people say or little quotes in the book, you know, copy, paste it, print it, put it on your locker, things of that nature to always remind you and get you back in the right frame of mind.
01:06I don't know what I'm reading. Funny.
01:09I don't know what I'm reading right now.
01:11But, yeah, yeah, see, that's the part that people are texting and tweeting about, which is if you're going to say that you're reading a book every night, at least know what the book is like LeBron always having a book and on the first page.
01:27Right. Well, at least, you know what the book is, though, but he's never beyond the first couple of pages, which is funny.
01:33I'm like, I'm with that with Tua. Like, I like that. Yeah. Keep your mind right. And you watch some podcasts, you read some books and you just kind of kind of keep the mind working.
01:46But, yeah, just have one title ready to go. Just have a title just in case they call you on.
01:54It reminds me of, you know, Solano with the kayak stories or something. It's like, well, have something better ready to go.
02:00Man, watch some Netflix, drink a couple beers and go to bed, too. Well, let's be honest.
02:07Or real easy, you can shut everyone up. Well, I'm reading a book, but also I never go to bed without reading a couple of verses from the Bible.
02:16You say that, you're golden. It's like, you know what I mean?
02:20What are you reading right now? The Bible?
02:22Yeah, a couple of books, but always a few verses from the Bible before bed. I mean, yeah, that's an easy way out.
02:30At the very least, like, I can lie. I'll just make stuff up. I have an answer always.
02:36What? You say it like you can lie, like, well, you lie, but it's very poorly.
02:42Well, here's the thing. Real pokey.
02:44Here's the thing. You guys tear my lies apart, but it takes you, like, three, four, maybe five questions to finally figure out that I'm lying.
02:52No, it takes you three, four, five questions to finally admit you're lying.
02:57We know you're lying the moment you do it. There's a difference between when you're finally ready to admit it.
03:03But at the very least, I have an answer on the first question. He said what he had to say.
03:09One question, hey, what book are you reading? Well, you know, I don't really know what book.
03:13Like, one question in, he got exposed. Like, at least give me three, four questions before you expose me.
03:19You can't just make up a book.
03:21Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, oh, I'm reading several books right now.
03:26So, um, I don't want to, I don't want to give away the title or the author, but it's a motivational book that, uh, probably maybe I'll get you all a copy of it.
03:35All you beat writers, you know what I mean?
03:37Like, and you leave it at that and you'd be like, just to go, oh, I don't know what I'm reading.
03:40But if I told somebody I read, like, and I've, I've actually been trying to read a little bit more.
03:46If I told somebody I'm reading and they're like, well, what book are you reading?
03:50Even if I'm not reading, I read books in high school.
03:53I could go, well, the Kahneman at Christo is, uh, right.
03:56But I mean, do you think that we're going to accept of mice and men because we all read it in high school?
04:03Yeah. I mean, whatever. At least it's a name, Hawk.
04:07It's a name. One title.
04:09We're going to have rabbits. Yeah, we're going to have rabbits, Lenny.
04:16He's got to learn how to lie better, man.
04:18I'm sorry. That's, that's crazy.
04:20So you think he's lying though?
04:22You, you think he's not reading books at night?
04:24I don't believe so.
04:25You can't come up with one or he like, it just sounded like, no, I don't, I don't know what I'm reading now.
04:30Like, what do you know what he was reading?
04:32Well then, then maybe they should do some more concussion tests on him because that's, that's insane.
04:38What do you mean?
04:40It's cutesy.
04:42I hate with this.
04:43What do you do at night?
04:45You watch TV and drink a couple of beers.
04:46You know, I'm reading a couple, you know, self-help books and just trying to, you know, get my mind right so I can dream big while I'm dreaming.
04:53It sounds good.
04:55No, you're not.
04:56You, you, you bumping up.
04:58You're bumping up.
04:58You're bumping up with your wives.
05:01You got married.
05:03You have a baby.
05:04I know what you're doing before you go to bed at night.
05:05And then you're drinking a couple of beers.
05:07You're hanging out, you know, eat some ice cream.
05:09Be honest.
05:10I think he's reading books.
05:10He's not reading no damn books.
05:11He should have said the biography of some, George Washington.
05:16I'm learning how to be a commander of troops.
05:19Right.
05:19Wow.
05:19Okay.
05:20Wow.
05:20Norman Schwarzkopf.
05:21Yeah.
05:21Yeah.
05:22War and peace.
05:24You don't know Norman Schwarzkopf?
05:26I don't know.
05:27Who's that?
05:27Who's that?
05:28Wow.
05:29Guys are young.
05:29Do you know Norman Schwarzkopf, Jimmy?
05:34Persian golf?
05:35Yeah.
05:36He commanded the U.S. troops into the Persian Gulf.
05:38Good for you.
05:39Storm and Norman Schwarzkopf.
05:40One of the greatest American generals of all time.
05:44Man, you guys are just.
05:45I'd like to go with Ulysses S. Grant.
05:49Good one.
05:49Is he a general?
05:51Yeah.
05:51I guess General Grant.
05:52Yeah.
05:53During the Civil War.
05:55Man, you know, the Hulk's more of a Robert E. Lee guy.
05:58Oh, was that my general?
06:01He went to high school with Robert E. Lee.
06:05So, what you doing now, Rob?
06:10Wait a second.
06:11You don't know General Schwarzkopf, but you know General Ulysses S. Grant?
06:15Bro.
06:16He was a president, first of all.
06:17Yeah.
06:18And of course, everybody knows Ulysses S. Grant.
06:22Yeah.
06:23Why do you say, why do you say, of course?
06:27Why wouldn't you know S. Lee Williams?
06:29The Civil War.
06:30Did you see Venus Williams yesterday?
06:32Won 45 years old.
06:34Venus Williams is still playing competitive tennis?
06:36She came back.
06:37She came back.
06:38She won yesterday.
06:39First round in Washington.
06:40What?
06:41Yeah.
06:41What was she?
06:4221 years older than the girl she played.
06:4545 years old.
06:45Did you see there was a pitcher yesterday in the major leagues that was 45 years old?
06:50They just called him up on the minors.
06:5245, he pitched yesterday.
06:54Hey, man.
06:54You're in the minors at 45.
06:56You might want to find another career path.
06:57He had been in the majors.
06:59Hadn't he been in the majors before, Jimmy?
07:01I got to look at this story.
07:03That's a grind.
07:03I can't believe Venus Williams is playing tennis again.
07:06She came back.
07:07She said she's doing it for – actually, her comments were great yesterday.
07:10She's awesome.
07:11I love her, Crowder.
07:13She came back.
07:15Let me yell my name when you say some Venus Williams.
07:18I don't care.
07:18For insurance issues.
07:20She said she needs better insurance.
07:23Really?
07:23Yeah.
07:26I think it was more like tongue-in-cheek.
07:28Kansas City's Rich Hill seemed a bit rusty in his return to the majors as baseball's oldest active player on Tuesday night.
07:36His Royals teammates didn't make the 45-year-old left-hander start against the Cubs any easier.
07:41He gave up three runs and six hits over five innings.
07:44He became the oldest player to start a major league game since 2012 when Jamie Moyer tossed his final game with Colorado at age 49.
07:56This is his 14th team.
08:03Wow.
08:04He better have a hell of a spitter because I know he ain't got no heat.
08:09I heard – I think I heard Kyle Seeloff and Tommy Hutton talking about him today during the Marlins game.
08:15And Tommy Hutton was saying he was throwing a few curves out there last night.
08:19I was about to say, I know he ain't going triple digits at 45.
08:25It reminds me.
08:26I got to look at this Cubs box score.
08:28You think anything from Suzuki or PCA?
08:33I like PCA.
08:34They lost 8-4.
08:38Suzuki 0-4, PCA 1-4.
08:42Damn it.
08:42Suzuki, let you down.
08:47Let me down.
08:48All right.
08:48We got to take a break.
08:51We will try to figure out what Tua's reading by the time the 5 o'clock Funky Buddha Happy Hour starts.
