00:00hello joshua hello gentlemen so i want to get into your goodfellas movie watching and i want
00:07to talk dolphins as well but you are our resident professional wrestling expert for those of you who
00:14listen to uh smark your territory on the five reasons network of course you recognize josh and
00:20his pro wrestling prowess what's so funny we're barely in the smattering yeah i mean listen uh
00:28smark your territory with josh and mr bill it was because it didn't time magazine come out with
00:32their top 100 podcast the other day yeah and we uh shockingly were somehow left off of that mark was
00:38not there yeah like joe rogan part of my take and smark your territory the biggest snub is off that
00:44list i'm sure there'll be some sort of belligerent tweet from mr bill coming soon regardless uh hulk
00:50has passed away at the age of 71 and you know all the indiscretions aside i was saying to crowder and
00:58solana at the beginning of the show he is widely credited with the greatest heel turn in the
01:04history of professional wrestling is that true is there anything that compares at the time i thought
01:09john cena was the closest thing to it but hulk hogan in many ways changed wrestling and influenced and
01:17made it what it is today it's unfortunately has that he has such a complicated legacy outside of
01:23the ring given the transgressions that uh you mentioned and it kind of sucks that his last
01:29appearance on wwe television was him getting booed out of the building in los angeles yeah on the netflix
01:36premiere and not to say that it wasn't something that he had earned and deserved especially from
01:42a crowd like that but there is no present day version of professional wrestling or the wwe it does not
01:51get to the heights or reach the heights that it did and has without hulk hogan um he is a lock for
01:58anybody's mount rushmore of pro wrestlers of all time and um it is a complicated day because on the one
02:06hand you want to celebrate what he did for professional wrestling but also you have to recognize
02:11uh what the back end of his life out of the ring has been like you said about rushmore honestly i
02:21think he's number one and the number two i don't know who you think number two is but it's way far
02:25like he was wrestling i don't the rock cena all the guys nowadays like hulk hogan is what everybody
02:31put on wrestling back most recognizable wrestler of all time no yeah absolutely and he was like the
02:38goodiest of good guys like there was nobody better he was the he was the guy that kids looked up to
02:45uh he had all the slogans and that's why it was such a shock that when he came to wcw as the quote
02:52unquote third man or in wcw when he was the third man to form the nwo that's why it was so shocking
02:58it was heartbreaking to little kids and adults uh because of the impact that anyone know it was coming
03:04back then because i i people kind of knew the cena thing might happen right that was maybe telegraphed
03:10i don't i don't know enough about it but did did like was that the biggest shock ever yeah all of a
03:16sudden hulk hogan american hero take your vitamins kids like was a bad guy yeah i mean it is take the
03:24take your vitamins guy is now teaming up with two of the biggest bad guys in the business at the time
03:31they threw trash at them in the ring that day uh it was it's one of the most iconic uh or is probably
03:38the most iconic uh segment if you will um in wrestling history and to your point channing yeah
03:44i'm not really sure there's a close number two uh but he certainly has an impact and had an impact
03:50that again the the industry would not have reached the heights that it's gotten to without him i think uh
03:56number two would probably be the tonga kid yeah ask mr mill and let me let me go on
04:07he switched the hill because booker t became wrestler he didn't like that
04:13i'm not i'm not sharing good guy status with this guy
