01:15meantime biggest takeaways from day two patriots training camp i've seen jabril peppers talk to
01:22the media i thought i saw and when who on there quickly tendrick born i think that's barmore now is
01:27was just leaving uh you're right that is uh christian barmore who i don't think was a full
01:31participant today at camp so i find it interesting that he's talking let's start with that on some
01:36takeaways here and then we can get to more broad stuff but since you mentioned barmore uh a lot of
01:40the uh beat writers are detailing individual work for barmore look limited today maybe it's planned
01:46as he's working himself back from a scary health situation last year didn't take any part in 11 on 11
01:51reps today yeah but i'd say the fact that he's talking to the media is probably a good sign definitely a
01:55good sign you know that first of all he's here and that he's even doing this because sometimes
01:59they'll try to hide some of the really injured players or they'll get them out of sight out of
02:02mind kind of uh until they're able to go he really is one of those real swing players right like there
02:09i think there's a version of this season where you're like wow christian barmore really emerged he
02:15stayed healthy he's one of the top defensive linemen in the league looks like a great pick from a few years
02:19ago but then there's also the unfortunate side where is he able to stay on the field how many games do you
02:24get out of christian barmore this year and then you're left looking at other depth defensive linemen
02:29they're gonna have to play way more because i think with milton williams you're thinking about
02:34barmore could be in for a monster year could be a wrecking crew right the two of them together but
02:39then also just what are you gonna double team barmore probably not you know you got you got milton
02:44williams there so you're hoping to see those two guys play alongside each other all season but you
02:49just you never know with barmore nope uh so he continues to talk i see morgan moses stepping up there
02:54as well uh some takeaways and i hear what's the what's the ovation guys running around signing
02:59i'd imagine that's may oh yeah i see may far side of the field he's got more autographs so that's
03:03where you're getting a little uh pop from the crowd he's running around uh signing autographs out
03:08there he is very friendly to the fans which is smart that's a good good thing to do win them over
03:13uh reese we read you this tweet before the last break but i'll reiterate he says initial thought

03:20drake may probably not too exciting for those in attendance but part of may's game uh that could
03:26be critical in lowering the int count today uh i'm reading from phil perry says pat's wrap up day two
03:32of training camp uh christian barmore limited as we detailed jalen polk out again he says and agrees
03:39with reese big emphasis was on the short passing game it seemed drake may completed 14 to 15 competitive
03:44reps many of those close to the line of scrimmage his final attempt batted down at the line it
03:49appeared to be jeremiah farms with the breakup may also put the ball on the ground at one point in
03:54time fumbled exchange between he and jared allen and then just going through all these qb pieces
03:59uh callahan similar numbers 14 out of 15 for may 9 out of 12 for dobbs he says digs had two catches
04:06from may douglas and stevenson had three apiece he says 35 of may's completions were screens and swing

04:45know he might be flying under the radar a little bit just because milton williams got the money
04:48carlton davis you know you look at him and the the combo that it could be with gonzalez all the
04:54attention we've given to stef diggs i don't really talk much about harold landry no maybe maybe a nice
04:59nice addition a couple more notes here from callahan uh he says campbell henderson williams and jared
05:06wilson all rotating in with the first team offense says the future is coming up fast with all those
05:10rookies it's a good sign yeah it is uh he also says campbell and um when who are the only offensive
05:15line mainstays rotations at left guard center and right tackle he says the team is quote unquote
05:21preserving morgan moses all right well morgan moses is the oldest of that group right so that might be
05:28what it is right you know this goes back to what vrabel said on tuesday too when he was asked about diggs
05:34but he kind of opened it up to everybody being like yeah he doesn't have any limitations but he's not
05:38going to do everything because nobody's going to do everything and so with somebody like morgan moses
05:42he's missed a few games the last couple of years you're just trying to get him healthy through camp
05:48right you figure he's gonna be able to pick everything up he's been in the league for such
05:51a long time he's played on a bunch of teams so you're not really worried about that as much you're
05:55probably more worried about the physical part for moses and who knows maybe somebody else catches your eye
06:01and maybe somebody else is pretty good and is deserving of being either the top backup or starting on
06:06another spot on the line so the fact that campbell and on whenu are out there all the time kind of
06:12makes sense because we went in i don't think any there's no consensus on who the center or the left
06:18guard were going to be no and then right tackle you're hopeful that it's moses but we'll see so
06:23yeah i mean look it better be morgan moses i mean if they're presented early in camp i don't care but
06:28that that that is what better be no no it's him unless he physically can't go i see my point yeah
06:32yeah yeah no it's it definitely should be him you can pencil him in but i think you're gonna need
06:37to be prepared like with every team's offensive line for the next wave of guys because you see
06:43sometimes i mean how many offensive linemen played for the patriots last year and some of that was
06:47performance but a lot of it was injury i heard i heard wiggy wiggy and shine were kind of arguing
06:51about the o-line yesterday morning i think and wiggy read the starting offensive lineman in game one
06:56against cincinnati and i i honestly couldn't believe it i couldn't remember i didn't hear that part
07:01was it like darian low it was like mike michael jordan oh yeah michael jordan remember the guard
07:05yeah there was there was another day where i was like oh my god i forgot about that oh the guy who
07:11left a coral for oh the guy quit the guy who went awol yeah he quit and so that way i mean they used a
07:16million different combos last year hopefully they can settle on one here this year yeah a couple more
07:20notes from callahan and you keep hearing the ovations i just assume that's drake may moving around
07:24and signing autographs in different places uh he says a lot of pressure from milton williams
07:29which i guess there's a good and a bad to that it's like williams looks good but the o-line
07:33continues to give up pressure uh and then something we haven't mentioned in a while
07:37carlton davis absent today he was here yesterday he was absent we talked about that a lot early in
07:41the show i don't know the last time we mentioned that uh so a housekeeping issue there uh bedard says
07:47not much to read into at practice today uh he tweeted out not much to be gleaned from practice
07:52offense work mostly on the quick game screens deceptive plays and runs not much downfield
07:57which leads to a high completion percentage and not many issues past blocking so he was critical
08:02yesterday okay of the o-line he says not many issues past blocking today i would i would say
08:08my eyes disagree with that and i think most of the other b writers disagree with they were kind of
08:12under pressure a little bit more it felt like the all the quarterbacks today yeah no look bedard knows
08:16way more about what he's talking about he's watched way more of these than i have but i i thought there was
08:21a lot of tiptoeing around and being forced to step up in the pocket from may because there was a lot
08:25of uh activity but also just being in helmets is kind of tricky for that specific part of it you
08:31know i'd look more to it you know pop douglas making a great play so yesterday where it was digs and
08:36kyle williams kind of led the way right like drake may had one in completion during 11 on 11s digs and
08:42kyle williams kind of flashed today williams had a drop but pop douglas showed up and i i think in some
08:49order those should be your top three wide receivers yeah this year yeah and so i think for stuff like that
08:54you know where you can still get a little bit of coverage there's obviously not as much contact
08:58as there might be i don't know when if they announced when they go full pads i don't know
09:03how many i think i think a lot of the writers are saying it's probably gonna be monday okay i don't
09:07know i don't know that that's official but i'll be exciting that's kind of what they're hinting and
09:10that'll add like a whole other layer of kind of intensity throughout all the well i would say
09:14you could definitely put more stock in yesterday's practice than today yeah right this was this was more
09:18half speed zero pads like i you can put more yesterday than today but you'll put more into monday than
09:24anything you've seen to this point in time or wherever they throw the full pads on uh but again
09:29bedard says not much to glean from today's practice uh and again doesn't think there was much in terms
09:35of pressure on drake but i think one thing that you can kind of tell even from afar and it helps with
09:40you know what he said yesterday drake may but just watching him out on the field like it's his team
09:44he so i have a top guy i have nothing to compare it to i've been to training camp in a million years
09:49uh you know but that's what it looks like yeah if you know any better you're like it's this guy's
09:54team the way the crowd reacts the way he carries things around the way he's first up through drills
09:58the way he is uh interacting out there on the field i mean it's it's corny but but i but i do think
10:04there's something too that's one of the things we wanted to see and i also now there is a significant
10:08drop-off from him to the next couple of guys and last year jacoby brissette came in and it was just
10:14sort of like a weird camp in that regard because it was like he was clearly told he was going to be
10:19the guy yep but was only gonna be the guy for so long so drake may i think found himself in sort
10:25of a weird spot like he's one of the youngest guys on the team doesn't want to completely overstep but
10:30if you're a quarterback you are a de facto leader but how much do you want to do when you're getting
10:35a lot of like second team reps some first team reps i don't know it's just another kind of issue
10:40like you know there's a handful of teams around the league this year that are probably dealing with
10:43the same thing where it's like a quarterback battle but is it a real quarterback battle or is
10:47it already sort of a sham job you don't have any of that stuff this year this is like our
10:51it's drake may's no question no question to ask whose team it is yeah and and but i think he's
10:56already kind of accepted that and then all the players are going in that direction just keeping
11:00an eye on the media down there it looks like it's remandre stevenson talking now uh so you know a lot
11:06of familiar faces have talked today peppers uh stevenson barmore i guess morgan moses still talking down
11:12there as well uh so a little different speaking of moses one more detail this is the last one at
11:16least that caught my eye uh patriots offensive line continues to be according to mark daniels
11:22campbell strange bradbury unwenu moses uh he says wilson is rotated in at center and left guard
11:28demantre jacobs is rotated in at right tackle feels like moses is on a pitch count uh but that's the most
11:33frequent offensive line out there which was under duress yesterday also and i uh we mentioned this
11:39earlier i see kyle williams walking over now um williams had one drop in teamwork today i haven't
11:46seen anybody else tweet this i'm i'm 99 sure he's the one who i saw with a fumbled punt over here 18
11:52he's wearing those green cleats i'm pretty sure that was him uh but i saw a drop punt as well so
11:58maybe a after a good day yesterday and a strong day yesterday for kyle williams not a good day today
12:04and again we mentioned this early in the show it was the that was the punt thank you uh keep him humble
12:08well but it's just it's a fresh reminder where we're like man kyle williams looked great strong
12:13hands making plays on gonzo but again remember last year at camp jaylen jaylen polk was making
12:19plays and even look good in the preseason games and the guy's probably going to be cut after being a
12:23second round pick a year ago so it's a reminder not to get too far ahead of ourselves yesterday was
12:27a good day today not so much for the rookie kyle williams yeah i think that's what you're going to
12:31get with a lot of rookie i mean third round rookies you're going to get sort of the highs and lows you
12:35hope that the highs obviously outweigh it and then it's going to be compared to other guys like i
12:39don't think any of the other receivers have really stood out good or bad right like yesterday it was
12:44pretty highlighted by digs the attention he was getting how his knee look how he looks cutting and
12:49everything else and that was a highlight that was a positive kyle williams same thing couple of throws
12:54especially one on gonzalez you didn't even really notice who else was out there i guess today booty
12:59had a nice play but he had the first catch of team drills yeah pop douglas had a nice catch on the
13:04side pop douglas had a nice one but then some of the other guys have been kind of just
13:07a little bit invisible but just another thing to kind of monitor throughout out camp you know you
13:13mentioned was phil's stock watch you know guys up guys down yep so maybe williams slight arrow down
13:17but maybe it's you know back to back to the the ground level right because it was up after the first
13:23training camp practice a little bit down today now let me give you one more thing what do you want to
13:27spoil anything for weei afternoons but really this is a reason to stick around for weei afternoons i think i
13:32see hart and fitzy down there with digs right uh my eyesight's not okay turps in the blue uh uh
13:39polo down there with the white hat that's hart with a stupid visor right and that's fitzy with digs if
13:44it's somebody with a visor that's definitely uh heart i'm pretty sure i'm pretty sure that's what i'm
13:48seeing okay i'll get an official tease for you for weei oh no that was pop i saw i thought i saw an
13:55eight that's a three you only saw one half of the number yeah i know i look like it it looked like he did
14:00look short i thought i saw an eight that's a three all right pop douglas stick around for that
14:04as bad as my eyes and heart i can't see hearts i can't see hearts giant head with the visor though
14:09so it is if you see someone with a visor with two-thirds of their head sticking out of it yeah
14:14that's true yeah that's definitely him but no that's pop douglas number three not a number eight
14:19well that's a shame i was hoping for digs anyway stick around that's all right for pop douglas with the
