00:00Obviously, the Spud Bros thing has been massive, the kit deal.
00:03In terms of how that was structured, was it similar to what you've done in previous years
00:07or given the exposure they'll give you and all the stuff they're doing on social media,
00:12was it a little bit different, something quite new?
00:16It's unique.
00:18So what we've done is, and take this the right way,
00:23so what we've done aside from the Spud Bros is a lot of the things we gave away
00:28to our previous sponsors for free as part of the deal,
00:32we've actually sold separately, like training kit and a few other things
00:37in terms of sponsorship.
00:38So we've actually already earned as much as we did before,
00:41before we come on to what we earned from Spud Bros.
00:45The Spud Bros thing is a unique opportunity to monetize going forward
00:53the relationship.
00:54It's very much all about getting to a particular set of eyes and ears
01:01in terms of the generation who follow them on elements of social media
01:05that I used to think TikTok was a watch until somebody told me
01:09something slightly different.
01:11And, you know, when we met them, I mean, we met the father here briefly,
01:18and then we followed up with a meeting in Rexham at a food factory,
01:22and we said, we're not leaving until we're going to deal with you.
01:24And they were so excited, and it was hammered out that afternoon
01:28in a two- or three-hour meeting.
01:30And I have to say, it's better than we could have imagined.
01:33It's a local company.
01:35It's entrepreneurs, exactly what this country needs,
01:39young lads who are making the name for themselves.
01:41The amount of media hits we've had on all forms of social media
01:47from all around the world is unbelievable.
01:50And the interest in Preston North End as a football club,
01:54as a direct result of that sponsorship deal, is as good as it gets.
01:58It's on the kids' shirts as well.
02:00And there was a great piece the day before the Liverpool game,
02:03I don't know if you read it, where...
02:04Yeah, brilliant.
02:05I think it was a bit of a backhanded compliment about us as a club.
02:09And, you know, we were sort of footballers it used to be
02:12and were we really sort of the forgotten type of club.
02:16But what it did point out is instead of going for, you know,
02:19gambling companies or whatever who might throw money at you
02:21but have no association with the club,
02:23it truly is a sponsorship deal with a football club
02:27with the roots of the city in terms of a business.
02:31So we're just at the start.
02:33On the back of that, I had a meeting last week
02:35with somebody who represents quite a number of influencers,
02:39some of whom I'd heard of and some of whom I had to be educated on
02:42who were going to be participating in the sponsorship deal going forward.
02:46And I just never had so many phone calls saying,
02:49we want to talk to you on the back of the sponsorship deal.
02:52I don't just mean cash,
02:53I just mean we want to be associated with a football club.
02:56And then if you throw in the worldwide reaction
02:59when we got to the Liverpool game,
03:03I don't think we as a football club have ever been
03:05as far in people's minds as we are at the moment.
03:10I think it's been wonderful for a few weeks, to be honest.
03:14Good stuff.
03:15Have you had a potato?
03:17Not yet, no.
03:19I wouldn't know whether to stick my beans on first
03:22or my cheese on first
03:23or whatever first.
03:24I'm going to be educated, sure.
03:25So...
