00:00Rebecca, how has it felt for you to step back into the role of Mystique?

00:07It's been incredibly fun, surreal, and wonderful to be with my old cast as well as a new cast.

00:15Rebecca told us she's been spending up to seven hours a day in the makeup chair to get those scales applied.

00:22Currently in production.

00:23Did you ever think all these years later you'd be back?

00:26Never in a million years, no.

00:27I was laughing because Jerry O'Connell, Rebecca's husband, has this great picture of him dressing up as Mystique at a convention.

00:34And he had posted it at the same time that they were announcing that she's coming back as Mystique.

00:38Doomsday comes out December 2026, but you can see Rebecca in season three of Star Trek Strange New Worlds on Paramount+.

00:46It's already renewed for a fifth and final season.

00:49It wasn't an easy negotiation, I don't think, to get a season five because of the state of the world right now and budgets and things like that.

00:58And we had always intended to be a five-year mission.

01:02The fact that we get to finish up our storylines, it's really great.

01:05We're thrilled.

01:06New series regular Martin Quinn is making Star Trek history.

01:09For the first time in the franchise's 60 years, he's the first genuine Scott in the role of Scotty.

01:15It was quite nice to try and be authentic.

01:17You sometimes do get imposter syndrome, though.

01:19I just saw the trailer and I was like, wow.

01:22I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb.

01:25You're acting as anything but monotonous.

01:27It's like a beautiful melody.

01:28It's one in a thousand we get it done right or don't blow ourselves up along the way.

01:32I like those odds.
