00:00But if, like we saw with the Eagles just a few years ago,

00:03there is some regression in a negative way,

00:06Detroit might be battling for a playoff spot

00:08in the very difficult NFC North.

00:11And that focuses offensively on the guy we just discussed,

00:15who is now the head coach in Chicago, Ben Johnson.

00:18Here were the Lions' ranks on the offensive side of the ball,

00:20DRS, in 2024.

00:22They scored more than 33 points per game, best in the NFL,

00:26put up nearly 410 yards per game, second best,

00:29second best in terms of passing yardage,

00:32dynamic on the ground with Sonic and Knuckles,

00:36that being David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs.

00:39Offensive numbers you dream about in today's NFL landscape.

00:44But the buy or sell is this to you.

00:46The Lions' offense will take a major step back without Ben Johnson.

00:53Sell, because it's foolproof.

00:54Their offense is foolproof right now.

00:56Now, you've heard me use this terminology before.

00:58Let's go back to Top Gun, right?

01:00You got Iceman on one side.

01:02You got Maverick on the other.

01:04They're battling to be the top, you know, fighter pilots.

01:06You remove them out there and just put random guys in there.

01:09It don't fly so good at that point.

01:10But understand this.

01:12There is an autopilot button in those planes that you can push.

01:15And it feels like that's what you're going to get.

01:17An unbelievable offensive line.

01:19Unbelievable wide receivers.

01:21A top 10 level quarterback and maybe the best one-two punch in the NFL at the running back position.

01:28How does it fail?

01:29It almost can't fail.

01:31So when I bring it up and say to myself, let's use this as a caveat.

01:33Because you look at this offense where it is foolproof.

01:36If it doesn't work next year, if it's not as explosive.

01:40And I don't mean being the number one offense.

01:42Like, it drops out of, like, the top 10 altogether.

01:44That square lands right on Dan Campbell, which means, like, he's just a figurehead here.

01:48And it was his coordinators running the ship where he can get up all brimstone and fire.

01:53And, yeah, I messed up my team by going for a fourth down.

01:56Because, damn it, I'm bored on the sideline.

01:57I don't even do any coaching over here except yell and scream and bite kneecaps over here.

02:01You tell me that this offense struggles this year or doesn't look nearly as efficient under Ben Johnson.

02:06We got real issues.

02:08But back to the original point, how can this offense not succeed with all the talent it has in place?

02:14Just keep, like, the same playbook.

02:15And you won't get the same play calls in the same moment.

02:18Maybe the week-to-week, you know, film work that you normally get under Ben Johnson.

02:23But it can't fall off a map.

02:24It should be foolproof this offense is so good.

02:28So for me, I look at that offense and say, it should be as good.

02:31I don't know if it'll be better.

02:32But, boy, if it falls off, that is a terrible look for Dan Campbell as the head coach.
