00:00I've shared this a few times as we continue our division by division breakdown around the National Football League where they focus currently on the NFC East.
00:09But the first offseason win total bet I made in the NFL was on the Dallas Cowboys over a win total of seven and a half.
00:17At that point, DRS plus 110 to the over. Now that over has the minus money and the hefty juice.
00:25For me to make a preseason bet, albeit my first and foremost in the NFL on the Cowboys, that is saying something.
00:33If the Dallas Cowboys have 1,000 haters, I am one. If the Dallas Cowboys have one hater, I am that hater.
00:40If the Dallas Cowboys have zero haters, that means I have left this earth.
00:44I never bet the Dallas Cowboys in any of their preseason prices, even giving them their respect as often a successful regular season team.
00:54Because I think you're paying a premium. I don't think Dallas is worth it.
00:58And of course, the Cowboys have been a postseason failure the last three decades around the NFL.
01:05But when I saw seven and a half and at the time with plus money on the over, I couldn't not bet it.
01:11And here's why. Dak Prescott has been the quarterback in Dallas for nine years.
01:16It is seven fully healthy seasons when he has played at least 15 games.
01:20The Cowboys have won at least eight games all seven of those years.
01:24In five of the seven DRS, they've won double digits.
01:28You even look at the five years under Mike McCarthy, who of course was let go at the end of 2024.
01:34Bookend with Dak injuries in bad years, losing 10 games.
01:38But sandwiched in between three consecutive years of 12 wins exactly in 2022 or 2021, 2022, and 2023,
01:48and a divisional title in two of those three years as well.
01:53I don't know if the Cowboys are going to win the NFC East.
01:56I'm not even sure Dallas gets the 10 wins and becomes a playoff team once again.
02:01But I believe enough in Brian Schottenheimer and that if Dak Prescott is healthy,
02:06there is so much talent on this roster to at least get to an eight and nine record.
02:11That's why I bet the over seven and a half for Dallas.
02:14Yeah, it makes some sense.
02:15It does, which then puts them right in the realm of possibility of a playoff run.
02:19And we don't know how the rest of the league per se, because you start the season,
02:22oh, high expectations, injuries, just not playing up to expectations.
02:25You'll get that around, but you are correct here.
02:27When Dak Prescott is playing in the regular season, it's a good offense.
02:30And you added Pickens.
02:31Let's just say Pickens gets his head, you know, turned on straight again.
02:33And you have him and CeeDee Lamb.
02:35That's a really good wide receiver, one-two combination punch.
02:38CeeDee Lamb be working out of the slot a lot there.
02:40He's one of the best wide receivers in football.
02:42And George Pickens, one of the best single deep receivers, one-on-one coverage,
02:46which, you know, Dak Prescott's going to give him opportunities to succeed here.
02:49And you have Micah Parsons, who I think is the best pass rusher overall in the NFL.
02:53Oh, Donnie, Miles, and, you know, TJ, they're all out there.
02:56But Micah Parsons can absolutely wreck a football game.
02:59If he's healthy and he's paid, that's what we're still waiting on here.
03:02So I know this is one of those years where it's like the buy low, like, team.
03:06That's got to be the Dallas Cowboys because they're really not on a lot of people's radar.
03:09And we're not saying that they should be on your radar for an NFC championship run in the Super Bowl.
03:14They never get that far.
03:15But they're a good regular season team as long as they're healthy.
03:18And the anticipation is they should be healthy for next year.
03:21Dallas should get to eight wins, there's no doubt in my mind.
