00:00The Dallas Cowboys win total, seven and a half.
00:02The over now has a pretty hefty price tag
00:05that you need to pay to make the playoffs,
00:08plus 186, third best price to win the division,
00:11plus 550, 22 to one to win the NFC,
00:15and a 50 to one number to win a Super Bowl.
00:19The RS, although they have not won a Lombardi trophy,
00:21now in three decades since 1995,
00:24basically every year for the past decade,
00:27that has not been that long of a price on the Cowboys
00:30to either win the NFC or a Lombardi trophy.
00:33But after a seven and 10 season,
00:35a rookie head coach that did not come
00:37with a lot of accolades or splash in Brian Schottenheimer
00:41and a couple of key players,
00:43notably the quarterback Dak Prescott,
00:45coming back from injury,
00:47it is not nearly as optimistic in Big D
00:49at this stage of the offseason as it often seems to be.
00:53So the buyer's self-question,
00:54the Cowboys have become underrated entering 2025.
01:01I'll buy that from a handicapping perspective.
01:04They are an underrated team coming into the season,
01:06but if you're just looking at it from an NFL fan perspective,
01:08they're always overrated every single year
01:11because it's just the Dallas Cowboys.
01:13They have more primetime games.
01:14They play on Thanksgiving.
01:15They're always a part of the mix here.
01:17Michael Parsons probably had a deal signed three months ago.
01:19We just don't know about it
01:20because Jerry Jones wants to stay in the highlights here,
01:22and then they'll just somehow, oh yeah, yeah,
01:24we got them signed two days before training camp
01:26and away we go.
01:27That's what the Dallas Cowboys do.
01:29That's why they're worth so much money
01:30because we're always talking about the Dallas Cowboys.
01:33But as I said that,
01:34not a lot of people are talking about the Dallas Cowboys
01:36with a ton of success coming up in the 2025 NFL season.
01:39But I look at it differently.
01:41I say to myself,
01:41if Dak Prescott is out there and healthy,
01:44what has he shown throughout his career?
01:45When he's healthy,
01:46that they're not a playoff caliber team.
01:48Does that mean they're going to make a run
01:49to the NFC championship game?
01:50No, they never do that.
01:51Win a Super Bowl,
01:52absolutely they never do that.
01:53But there's no reason to believe
01:54on a week-to-week basis
01:55it's not going to be a competent football team
01:57that can win enough football games
01:59to get them into the playoff picture,
02:01which means 9, 10, or 11,
02:02in order to get that done.
02:04Is it a tough schedule?
02:05Yes.
02:05Everybody in the NFC East is playing a tough schedule
02:07due to the draws that they have with the counter,
02:09or excuse me,
02:09the crossovers with the different divisions
02:11and conferences here.
02:12But for my money,
02:13I look at the offense.
02:14As long as the offensive line stays stable,
02:16Dak Prescott is healthy.
02:18He has two legitimate wide receivers.
02:19There's Micah Parsons on defense.
02:21That team will win more games
02:23than they lose for me.
02:24So from a handicapping perspective,
02:26buy it on underrated.
02:27From a public perspective,
02:29they're always overrated at that point.
