DHS Secretary Noem Claims NYC Residents Thank Her, Federal Agents During ICE Raids

During a press briefing on Monday, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem claimed NYC residents express their gratitude towards her and federal agents during immigration raids in the city.

00:00I just want them to know that we will use every tool at our disposal that we

00:17have the authority to under the federal government to bring safety to the people

00:21of New York City and to other sanctuary cities across this country. One thing I

00:27would encourage the public to do is to continue to speak out for safety, for the

00:32ability to walk their kids to school in the morning, for the ability to sleep at

00:35home at night safely and not have to worry about violent crime happening

00:39right outside of their doorsteps. I've been here in the city several times

00:43doing different operations with our ICE officers, with HSI officers, and it's

00:48amazing to me how you can be out on the street early in the morning while we're

00:51incarcerating many of these individuals who perpetuate violent crimes and the

00:56citizens who live in those neighborhoods walk by us and they say thank you.

00:59Thank you for being here. Thank you for helping us. Nobody would help us and

01:03we've had to live like this for years. Thank you for giving us the chance to be

01:06able to walk down our street again without having to worry about who's

01:09going to attack us, who might hurt our children, or what might happen to our

01:13small business today. That's our mission every day is to make sure that we're not

01:17going to do what Joe Biden did or what these sanctuary politicians do. They decide

01:22who has to be a victim and who doesn't be a victim when they pick and choose who

01:26they're going to uphold the law against and who they're not going to. And many

01:30times that their policies have treated illegal criminals better than they have

01:33U.S. citizens. It's wrong and it needs to stop and this situation on Saturday

01:38night where our officer was shot and wounded and hurt and is in the ICU right now in

01:44the hospital fighting for his life, that that had to happen because it shouldn't have

01:49happened. It wouldn't have happened if we would have had the right leadership in

01:52the city. Yes.
