00:00Outspoken Kenyan activist Boniface Wangi has dismissed the government's attempt to link him to anti-government protests, calling it a weak and desperate move to silent dissent.
00:15Wangi appeared and caught on Monday, charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, a case stemming from his alleged role in the youth-led demonstrations that have gripped the country for months.
00:26Many at Fiat Wangi would be charged with terrorism.
00:56They are so brave that when they leave their homes, they even write obituaries, because they know they may go and never come back.
01:01So you cannot come and try and put this blame of them organizing on one person.

01:19Demonstrators have since expanded their demands to include action against corruption and what they describe as the regime's broken promises to ordinary Kenyans.
01:31As activists prepare for fresh demonstration on August 8th, Wangi made it clear the fight for a more accountable government is far from over,
01:40even as the state seeks to silence its critics through legal pressure.
